1- to play nfsu2 with hamachi,,,,change server file when installed nfsu2
remove the old one and paste it here: c: \ programfiles\eagames\need for speed u2

2- Set Hamachi network connection as highest priority (else others won't be
able to see your server):

For XP/2000: Start > Control Panel > Network Connections, then, on the menu
bar, click Advanced > Advanced Settings and put Hamachi at the top of the list.

For Vista: Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center, then, on the
left side panel, click on 'Manage Network Connections'. Now press Alt, click
on Advanced > Advanced Settings and put Hamachi at the top of the list.

Well I tried onling play at turnuva26. The first day went OK, but after a hour or so on the second day, I got banned. update - Initially I was wondering if players thought I was cheating, but now I'm thinking that wasn't an issue since I wasn't cheating or dominating any events. One of the game hosts chatted something in Turkish and I responded "english?", and that host booted me. I don't know if it was language issue, country of origin, or perhaps simply because my ping was bad (wasn't paying attention to it, but I saw 3 green lights on everyone, and game play seemed OK).

I wouldn't expect any of the players to understand english, so that's OK. Maybe it was the wrong guy banned, maybe it wasn't. Just in case, I'd like to know what the rules are supposed to be, such as using career cars (3 uniques), and/or ecu tuning via save file editing. When the EA servers were working, a player had to used "ranked" cars that didn't have uniques, but towards the end of online play, most players were using ECU tuning, but it couldn't be noticues except at Outer Ring, or drag races (maybe worth 1/2 second on 240SX with non wheelie setup).

Yesterday, I saw a player running 2 laps at Outer Ring in under 2:17, which is either a career car with 3 uniques (seems like it should be legal for LAN play as there are no "ranked" cars), or a car without unique peformance parts, but with the ecu tuning editted in the savegame. A standard tune Corolla with a 5 speed tranny (revert to stock, then install shift kit, flywheel, and clutch only), can run 2 laps at Outer Ring at about 2:20. I have an old save from the online days has set of ranked cars, and the ranked circuit Corolla is setup for outer ring with 5 speeds, so I can switch between the ranked 5 speed Corolla and the "my cars" 6 speed Corolla depending on what race I see.

I've personally never gotten Hamachi to work properly; I think my firewall or something is blocking it. Besides the server file, is there any kind of setup? (if it involves port forwarding, that'll take me a while)

It's working fine for me. I didn't setup any port forwarding, but I see a long list of ip addresses starting with 5.xxx.xxx.xxx created and/or used by Hamachi. I don't use a router, so don't know if that would be an issue.

Okay, I've switched ISPs recently (Qwest -> Cox), let me see if it works now. Of course, someone would have to be online, and usually no one is online.
