looks nice but somewhat...not smooth...inconsistent framerate or internet lag?

It's probably because he's recording the game as he's playing. Takes a toll on your PC.

Yeah in one of his other videos he says that he can't drive well because his framerate is terrible when recording.

Yes,the game isn't optimized very well especially in Palmont.
Nothing to worry though, its normal for a beta stage.

The 5th installment of the video on that youtube link is awesome and despite the fact that its beta it looks beautiful! Theres some odd moments where the clipping is out but I imagine that will obviously be sorted for the release but considering its just past its closed beta stage its seems to be in remarkable shape!

Re: NFS WO first gameplay video
one thing bugs me greatly: the weird sucky "shadow under the car"
you know, same as in Most Wanted and Carbon, there is the shadow that moves like in real life and there is another pitch black texture under the car which interferes with road textures often, and looks generally crap.

Hmmm, when you have the shadows options cranked up to the highest in the newer games like Undercover and Shift this isn't nearly as noticeable and looks more realistic. I think that may soften up by the time it hits the open market... now that you've mentioned it though I cant stop noticing it in the videos.
