Car List Pt.1 Revealed

Post by Skyline_man »

Worthplaying recently posted the first batch of cars that will be in NFS Pro Street.
Need for Speed ProStreet boasts an impressive and unique car list that spans over 40 years of the automotive spectrum. EA unveils the first set of vehicles to be featured in the game with the Nissan GT-R PROTO leading the pack. This will mark the first time that the Nissan GT-R PROTO, which was unveiled at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show, is available in a full packaged video game.

Every car in Need for Speed ProStreet is selected for a reason – it is either unique, aspirational, memorable or highly desirable.

If the 2008 BMW M3 is going to be in Pro Street, I am definitely buying it. I am also really hoping that another BMW will be in the game. Possibly the M6 or even the Z4. The previous generation M3 would be a welcomed car as well.

The wiki has been updated with this new information.

Really like the car list so far. Much better than Carbon's IMO. All great cars, and all customizable. So far, it looks like EA has done a superb job on Pro Street.

As much as I am conservative about the Skyline, I am really excited that they included the new Skyline Prototype and yes, finally normal customizable BMWs and the new M3 is a great choice.......wonderful. I don't really care about the rest of the cars since they're recycled from previous NFS games but these two, the Skyline and the M3 are great.

this is frikin great.... now im hyped about carlist part 2!

cant wait to roll some of these cars in the dirt, too with the new damage model... not that i don't like the cars! i just cant wait to see some wrecks in the desert...speaking of which, ea has also outdone themselves in the track enviroment choices. i love racing in the desert.

It's not a Skyline because it doesn't carry the name Skyline on it. Yes, it is based off of the Nissan Skyline, but the model is named Nissan GT-R. Not Nissan Skyline GT-R.

Clearly this is the next generation Skyline. Just because in North America it is not called the Skyline, it does not mean that it's not. For example, are you going to say that the Infiniti G35 Coupe is not the current Skyline? In Japan, the Infiniti G35 is called Nissan Skyline. So, because the "Skyline" is absent from the name is a poor argument (to me anyways). :P

Another example would be the Acura TSX...would you say that it's not a Honda Accord?

Manufacturers determine the names for their cars based on the market they are in so just because they decided to name it differently, does not mean that underneath, it is not the same model.

@ xturbo: That works! :P

And we were talkibng about the name... I will not admit it is not VERY similar to the skyline, it may even be on the same chassis, but it is still not called a skyline.

Whatever dude. Do you really need to argue on how the car is called? It's clearly the next gen Skyline, and it certainly isn't a crime to call it a Skyline.

I'm looking forward to how this game turns out, as it seems to be a totally different concept from what we're used to.

2008 Nissan Skyline GT-R

As a prepduction prototype has been caught lapping both the Nurburgring and Goodwood Festival of Speed, the next Skyline GT-R will be with us soon. Like the previous models, the new Syline GT-R will likely feature a four-wheel drive system similar to the one which made the last R34 version so spectacular.

Sadly, Nissan released no information during their preview of the new Skyline GT-R at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. To keep the car under wraps until the Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan clad the pre-production version with camaflouge on the front and rear ends as well as the interior. This left only the exposed silhoutte which releaved that the new GT-R shares many of its design cues with the GT-R concept launched in 2005.

Earlier versions were only sold in Japan and Australia, but there might be a chance that the new GT-R will be a global launch, available with both right and left-hand drive configurations. Also, it has been speculated that the new car might be powered by a turbocharged 3.5 litre V6 producing 450 bhp.

The official launch of the Skyline GT-R will be at the Toyko Motor Show, but official details and images should be available far in advance.
