Not exactly a professional race car, but nice to see.

Looks like the Toyota Corolla AE86 will be included, as well.

Wow, the Reventon huh? That's a bit random but I'll be happy to drive it. I'm almost equally excited about the AE86. Though, it's really no surprise, I'm diggin' the bodywork. Strange to see the two on the same track...

Good point, Zero260. Hopefully they don't make it so Lambos can be beaten by Corollas, or something is wrong with their tuning system.

Hells yeah! Nothing like having a Corolla passing you up while you're racing a Revention.

Pretty typical of recent NFS titles... Unless there's multi-class racing in SHIFT; something like LMS. Which would be really cool if they do it right. They tried something similar in ProStreet (Grip Class events or something), but that was kinda lame.

It seems like LMS and FIA GT have been mentioned quite a few times in the interviews, so I think it's possible. But if not, I think we could expect overpowered Corollas passing top of the line Lamborghinis...

Well you'd asume that they'd do tiers or something in that case wouldn't you?

What ProStreet had was the ability for you to race a high end car, like an Aston Martin, with a Corolla, with you getting your ass handed to you by the Aston Martin. I mean, yeah sure, I can choose to race high end exotic sports cars in a crappy old tuner from the 80's, but that doesn't mean I'll win. I thought ProStreet did a satisfactory job of portraying that, and I expect no less from Shift. But if my Corolla beats a Revention, I'm throwing the game out the window.

Well sure the Reventon would win against the AE86 in the drag race... but can it drift? :P (Though personally I'm equally as likely to use the RX7, myself...)

Aggression

These must be driver traits associated with the "driver persona" mentioned in the producer interview. I wonder how this is going to be applied to the game... Will the person's gamertag be accompanied by his/her driving style?

I'd be willing to take you up on that bet. I guarantee it's an SLR McLaren (or some derivative of it like the 722 Edition).

I don't like the sound of that. Precision, aggression...? Based on these posters I'd choose aggression for the lambo.
I hope this doesn't force you how to drive.

They won't force you how to drive. And I don't think they're applied to each car. I think you'll be assigned these traits based on how you drive... Creating a "driver persona". That way your online/AI opponents know what kind of driver you are. At least that's what I'm speculating based on the interviews.

Damn it, I missed most of the EA conference. I know they showed NFS: Shift, anyone catch a glimpse of what they showed?

By those implications, it sounds like EA is doing the exact same thing as Juiced 2 did.

"There's a competition at EA's booth where the best racer gets to go home with a real-life BMW."

(Note to self: Visit EA's booth during show.)

EDIT: Need for Speed: Shift EA Conference Impressions:

EDIT 2: Need for Speed: Shift E3 Teaser Trailer:

(looks new to me)

EDIT 3: Never mind, the E3 trailer is old, really old

Either they're hiding the simulation mode very well...

... or this is yet another arcadeish title.
Still rolling my eyes
