Re: First car You ever drove or will drive.
Yes, but isn't the SLK55 closely related to the SLK320 apart from the AMG stuff? If so, the SLK320 is bloody comfortable, if it wasn't a convertible I'd class it as luxury. Or there's the C55 AMG. Yes, it's an AMG, but if you have the radio turned on you barely hear the exhaust note (although apart from political figures who wouldn't want to hear it??), and it feels comfortable, has all the cool Merc stuff like heated seats, inbuilt telephone, seat and steering wheel position memory, etc.
And government officials don't ride in SLK55s because if it is anything like the SLK320 then there IS no rear seat. Like most high-performance convertibles. Although I'd say good on 'em if they went in a C55.

There is a multitude chassis stiffening for AMG vehicles. Likewise for suspension firmness. So the ride comfort and cabin atmosphere are obviously not as comfortable as, say, a Lexus LS 600h L:
Bear in mind that the first priority of true luxury vehicles is accommodation.

setsunakute has a point, but bear in mind that vehicles like the E63 AMG are just as luxurious as E350/E500 but give the extra zing that the AMG models are famous for:

Which is why the C55 chould be classed as luxury. Not as nice as other Mercs, but just as spacious and feature-packed.Porsche-AG wrote:setsunakute has a point, but bear in mind that vehicles like the E63 AMG are just as luxurious as E350/E500 but give the extra zing that the AMG models are famous for:

No, actually because the C-Class vehicles (whether AMG or not) are classed as entry-level sports sedans. It's the reason why they are used in professional races instead of E/S-Classes. The most it could ever be classified as is a sport-luxury entry level sedan (with sport coming first).

Eh, Dad says if I do well in my QCS (have no idea what that means, I'm in Australia), he'll buy me a Porsche or a BMW. However, I can definitely see my dorky self in the family piece of junk (regular Mitsubishi Lancer).

Re: First car You ever drove or will drive.
The first car I've driven was a good ol' Toyota Corolla FX16. Sometime this week my dad's going to have me drive it again so I can get used to a manual shifting. Then I'm gonna practice on my mom's Yaris so I can get the feel of two different clutch systems.

I learned to drive in a Mitsubishi Magna, and learned to drive fast in a 380.

I know that the GSX doesn't suck (as much), I was just picking on Hazviper16 wrote:hey the GSX model dont suck. anyways those are good rally cars
Don't want to burst your bubble or anything, but 380s are not quick.baumaxx1 wrote:I learned to drive in a Mitsubishi Magna, and learned to drive fast in a 380.
I'm not having a go at the big sixes, because I've seen a bog-stock Aurion rental car pull 13.9 . . . It's just that "putting your foot down" does not mean that you know how to drive fast.
Wait until you drive something properly fast, perhaps an actual sports car, preferably charged, and then you can come back and brag about it Also, you'll never know how to really drive until you get on a track. That goes for me as well.

My driving life began at 20kph, in the pines in a GQ Nissan Patrol.baumaxx1 wrote:I learned to drive in a Mitsubishi Magna, and learned to drive fast in a 380.
Re: First car You ever drove or will drive.
- I know 380s are average... but I'm saying it's the first car I did 100km/h+ in and the first car I did some spirited driving in on the great ocean road... it's good for a family FWD, but when I get my own car I'll definitely getting something RWD and quick.Don't want to burst your bubble or anything, but 380s are not quick.

- About tracking it... I want to do it ASAP! Wonder if there are any performance driving schools near me...

I would prefer an Eclipse, no matter how 'girly' it is. Hell, i'd take a pink Eclipse over the family Lancer any day.
