for me it is MUCH quicker to say WWW, because of the way dutch pronouce 'W' :P

You really don't need to type in www. before anything. Though when I'm linking something, I like to have the whole address 'http://www.url.com/' just for good measure.

its obviously world wide web..each 'w' has three syllables, whilst each word only has 1 syllable.

The point is that regardless of which one is quicker, there's not really a choice. IMO, it's the question that's pointless.

The whole point of an acronym is to make it shortened so its easier to say, but in this case the longer version is easier to say than the shortened one.
