As probabily most of you've figured out, the best car for each event is this (general - depends from people to people):
speed: LP640
grip: EVO X (IX)
drag: Supra (Zonda; but expensive)
drift: RX-7 (Silvia)
You will almost certainly win the career with this car setup but I have problems winning the speed challenges with the LP640. The speed is very good but the problem arise in the curves. The handling is good, sometimes almost too good that the car suddenly gets off track and - gets totalled. I don't know how to keep the car on the road because the car tends to turn either too little or too much. I think you're able to complete the career mode without buying a steering wheel for your PC. Any Suggestions? Do I need to adjust any Tune Settings?

no I didnt know these cars are the best (how do you know?) I thought the STI was the best for grip
anyway, the problem isnt your way of driving
the problem is THE GAME
im at 55-60% and I hate it

Re: Tune Settings for Speed Challenge
ok, well that isn't my preferrence but many are good on that list. The LP640 has sensitive handling so if you can't handle it, DONT use it. I've heard that the GT2 is much better and you'd be better off with that. As for the others, im currently using an RX7 for drift, Evo X for grip and a Shelby GT500 for Drag

Re: Tune Settings for Speed Challenge
I've been finding that the 2006 Shelby GT500 is great for speed challenges. It has a high top speed and good handling, and tuning it makes it even better.
Re: Tune Settings for Speed Challenge
Thanks for your posts guys! Might as well try the cars you all suggest. The car list as I said depeneds from people to people but from what I've seen on the forum posts, people mostly recommend these cars.

try letting go of acc before turning, put ur brake pressure on high and remember braking isn't a crime. (note: AWD's are better in grip and speed challenge)
Re: Tune Settings for Speed Challenge
high brake pressure will make it harder, it's less controllable and is more braking force. lower your steering ratios btw.
Re: Tune Settings for Speed Challenge
My speed car is 911 GT2.
Its steering is really awesome, much better than the LP640, Skyline, EVO X or whatever.
But I also have troubles in Nevada tracks.
My only solution is to turn off graphics setting such as world lighting, detail, etc
