Undercover Number 4 in UK
Need for Speed Undercover takes the 4th place of the best selling games in this year's Christmas season, topped only by Mario Kart Wii (3rd), Call of Duty World at War (2nd) and FIFA09 (1st.).
The whole top 10 is available here.
Additionally as EA recently signed a deal to have games distributed digitally, Need for Speed Undercover is now available as a digital download on the Steam service. You can purchase it here.

Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
Amazing how this game can be number 4... I mean, who the hell pays for it? Undercover doesn't worth the money they ask for it, really. The game's quality is way too low to be even considered a next-gen game. For me, it doesn't worth more than 15 Euro... less 35 Euro than its original price.
I'm playing now GTA IV and that game has a better handling and a better car detail/car damage than Undercover, which is incredible.

Well to be honest, I really like NFS Undercover and I can imagine the people that enjoy arcade games love this one as well...
So it's not really a surprise for me and I can only think of this news positively

Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
Same here, what I do not understand though how a digital steam download is 10EUR more than buying the game in a store for a regular price. I mean the game costs 30EUR now (already discounted) vs. 50EUR for steam download. The only reason why I'd go for a digital download is if it were considerably cheaper...
Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
Man I also like arcade games and most of the NFS games, but this one, really. Terrible graphics, glitches, bugs, a really bad tuning (look at Midnight Club: LA parts), a handling too much arcade, a not-that-amazing storyline... I still remember how Most Wanted was arcade and a it was a hell of a game. Even ProStreet is way better than Undercover...FnF wrote:Well to be honest, I really like NFS Undercover and I can imagine the people that enjoy arcade games love this one as well...

Bojan: I still pay 50 Euro for the game in here. WTF, the game doesn't worth 50 Euro, not even 35. But ok, it's you guys opinion, I have mine. Personally, Undercover is a bad game, full of problems. Not a good NFS, and it's bad that is selling kinda good, that way EA will still do these kind of games, because they give them money without much effort.

This does surprise me though, I didn't think sales were doing that well overseas (from the US.)

Hmm, that's the price of the game in Singapore though if you convert it to SGD. Is it overpriced here then?

Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
Isn't that like 70 American Dollars?
That is insane... I've never seen any game come out (that wasn't a specialty thing,) that cost $70.
It's $40 here, so that's about what, like 30 euros?

No? Nowhere near that range.Carcrazy wrote:Isn't that like 70 American Dollars?
Oh, and BTW Bojan, I just calculated. I just converted the GBP amount to Euro, and it came up to 31. It's quite a justifiable amount for a PC game, let alone NFS (IMO). In fact, the price of Undercover here is way more than what the site is offering.

Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
Yeah I know Bojan, I know. Problem is, the prices here in Portugal are not changed. Actually, 50 US Dollar is 35 Euro. However, they sell it without exchange, so it is 50 Euro, which is insane! But EA and others don't do nothing about, of course, it's more money for their pockets. Most of my friends import the games from the UK, it's way cheaper. And PC games are the cheapest. For Xbox 360, they usually cost around 60 Euro (83 USD) and for PS3 the price is 70 Euro (97 USD).Bojan wrote:Hydro_PT: http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDet ... sku=846763

Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
I think Bojan saw the price wrongly (unless of course he included the shipping fee). The price on the site stated £29.99. If you convert that to Euros, that's about 31 Euros, which brings up US$44.Carcrazy wrote:Google Calculator wrote:50 Euros = 69.63500 U.S. dollars
Reasonable enough.
Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
Just thought I'd mention that the average price for a new PC game in the UK is £29.99.
Some are £34.99 (with limited edition versions goin upto £44.99 sometimes).
I am however surprised at the rank this game is as I didnt feel it was as good as the previous games (I felt prostreet had better gameplay and that wasnt one of top games)

Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
Steam seems to be location based and the price I'm getting is 49,99€.
But still, UK price is same for digital and boxed. Which would you rather have (boxed even has free shipping).

Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
For the same price I'll take boxed over DLC any day if they price are the same or even close, it has to a lot cheaper for me the get a downloaded version.
Cause in general if I pay for something that's this much I want to be able to touch it.

Re: Undercover Number 4 in UK
Well I just don't know how FIFA 09 is number 1????
Also it is definitely not worth that much money, it worth maybe 40 American dollars MAXIMUM. To me that is BS
Undercover was supposed to be great, which is why everyone was buying it. As of what I've heard it wasn't good at all.
I'm still getiing it though.
Also Mery Christmas too all and a Happy New Year!

Yup! Good time to buy GBP Sterling now, before it increases again. I'm shocked myself.Pabl0z wrote:What the hell? When did GBP become so worthless?
