New Plymouth roars in World

The list of proper American muscle cars in Need For Speed: World is growing, as a hot new addition just made its way to the car dealer: the Plymouth Barracuda. Built by Plymouth (now a phased out division of Chrysler) between 1964 and 1974, the Plymouth Barracuda is a 2-door muscle car, or pony car as it is known in the USA. The third-generation Barracuda, which is now available in World for 1500 Speedboost, was the final generation, built between 1970 and 1974. Being quite different from the previous Barracudas, this one was available as 2-door coupé or 2-door convertible only. The car was designed by John Eric Herlitz, and while it is impossible to guess what exactly is under the hood of World's Barracuda (since many different engines were available for the car), it is possible that it features a 7.0-liter HEMI V8 engine capable of producing 350 or 425 horsepower.

Unfortunately, due to the 1973 oil crisis and other factors, the production of the Plymouth Barracuda was ended in 1974. A 1975 model was being developed but never made it to the production line. There are, however, rumours that the Barracuda will make a comeback in 2014 to replace the current Dodge Challenger. Today, original and well preserved Barracudas are sought by car collectors due to their rarity, particularly high-performance versions or convertibles.

Spot the Devs 6:

EA is holding a new Spot the Devs event. After the success of the last one in March, when the developers rode along players in the (at the time) unreleased BMW M1 Procar, the developers team decided to start April by showing up in both servers with another unreleased car. In case you find a dev. member today, take a clear snapshot of his/her car and submit it to ling@needforspeed.com with the subject line "Spot the Devs 6". This will grant you a chance of entering the random draw and win one of 50 promo codes for the not-yet-released car. Producer Marc De Vellis is also giving away 25 codes for anyone who spots him. Only one photo per contestant is allowed - multiple submissions will be automatically disqualified. You must send your photo before the clocks reach 20:00 GMT on 5th April. Winners will be announced on Wednesday 18th April.

Spot the Devs 6 will take place today, Thursday 5th April between 18:00 - 20:00 GMT. The developers will be starting their engines at the following locations: Time Square, Little Italy, Chinatown, Golf Course and Silverton. The team will be on the European server from 18:00 GMT to 19:00 GMT and then switch over to the North American server from 19:00 GMT to 20:00 GMT.
