Re: Worst corner ever?
I might be wrong on this, but if you're being evaluated the entire way around the Ring, then in essence there are 37 sectors to master and not corners? #-o I was of the understanding that a corner was one turn and that the evaluation process merely judged your entry, apex and exits, making sure you ...

Re: Has EA missed the window?
Most certainly not. The life of an online racing game is certainly longer than 8 weeks. Of course EA have nobody to blame but themselves for poor QA, they continue to tarnish their reputation through corporate greed and impossible deadlines. It would appear that they are on a downward spiral, chasin...

Re: All Car On Nordschleife (update Tier 2)
Summ is right, the best way to learn a track is to do the WHOLE circuit over and over, regardless of mistakes. The Nurb is simply too big and time consuming for us to sit there and restart every time a corner is taken incorrectly - you would spend your whole life hotlapping the cars in Shift looking...

Re: Favourite things to do in SHIFT
Recently I've been having a ball with hotlapping cars with no ABS turned on! I've been online two or three times, but for some reason I don't trust SHIFT gamers like I do those in the GT community. I'd love to get online more and this would certainly become one of my favourite things to do, but I ke...

Re: All Car On Nordschleife (update Tier 2)
Kudos to Anak. Why? Well he's obviously passionate about lapping the ring and evidently the lap times that he's achieved are indicative to him personally of what is a quick car. He's posted it here to generate a bit of discussion evidently and to evaluate other people's opinions on whether or not hi...

Re: Worst corner ever?
You didn't understand my post. :P In the full track, all corners are connected, so if you miss the exit of one, you will probably miss the entrance in the other, making it two wasted corners. ;) Correction. The corners are not connected. The Nurb has 173 corners, you're only required to master 37 o...

Re: NFS SHIFT Car Reviews
ASM is not a term that's borrowed from Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo first featured this acronym in GT3 when it was released in 2000 and was an term commonly used in motoring circles, especially in the high end luxury market where MB and BMW featured stability control systems on their S-class and 7-ser...

Re: NFS Shift user reviews
I think that perhaps the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I have GTR Evo and the mods are pretty decent, but I question the accuracy of them simply because they're dev'd by one or two guys who simply don't have access to the resources (i.e. the real car to model from) to be as accurate as the hil...

Re: NFS Shift user reviews
But is bashing a title for wearing the NFS badge considered "narrowmindedness". Far be it the opposite, that perhaps those who praise NFS be the narrow-minded ones who have not experienced full racing simulation at its best. I could easily bash Shift. I could bash it so hard it would earn ...

Re: NFS Shift user reviews
In all honesty, I don't mean to jump down anyone's throat. I've been a NFS player since the very first one came out and whilst it's not a game that I recommend to my friends (unless they're THOSE kind of mates), I couldn't help but be impressed with Shift. I'm a closet NFS gamer, it's not something ...

Re: NFS Shift user reviews
Okay, first of all, Summ, you're my kinda guy. The essence of a racing game is its core, if you get the basics wrong, then the rest of the game, no matter how good, will turn out to be rubbish. This I find is the difference between Shift and Grid. Grid has it's good points, but fundamentally, the ph...

Re: NFS Shift user reviews
You must be out of your mind! The only (and the very ONLY) thing NFS beats GRid in is GFX. GRID > NFS in all other areas. In NFS im still experimenting with controls to make the cars feel less slow/heavy/immovable/uncontrolable. In Grid, all you have to do is race 1 or 2 times, and you're already u...

Re: NFS Shift user reviews
SHIFT destroys both GRID and Pro Street, it is a much better game.
Shift versus Halo 3 though, I'd be a fool if I told you NFS was the better purchase.
Cheerskis!

Re: EA, don't be a n00btard. Read this before you make more!
EA need to do what they did with Shift. Over and over again. Forget about the rubbish custom culture, they need to develop more games that are more realistic. Candy paint? Who are you kidding?

Re: NFS Shift user reviews
I have just bought NFS Shift on the PS3. Admittedly, my two days worth of experience may amount to be rather meaningless, but as a huge fan of the racing genre, I have played just about every racing game out there. My expectations weren't high. How could they be after the disappointment of Carbon an...
