wow, site saw my cookie!

Man, it's been a LONG time since I last posted here, much less worked on those skins. I've had a rough time, harddrive failure coupled with upgrades, not to mention real life getting in the way.

Anyway, if/when I can finish these skins, I'll let you guys know.

While that may be true koffy, the license agreement states that it can only be installed on one (1) computer. Finally, I'm not going to explain how to make a no-cd patch work; it's the same for both pirated and legit versions. Pirated versions just have a couple of extra steps that you need to take ...

Then no worries m8. Or, keep looking. If you updated the game you've gotta find the matching patch.

yeah, it's what I call a "legit" no-cd patch. You actually have to have the game cd for the patch to work. It allows you to keep your purchased copy in good condition by minimizing the use of the disc. You slide it in, patch it, copy the directories from cd to the hard drive, then launch t...

I understand where you're coming from too, but at the same time I'm sure a store would order a copy or you could get the game from an online site like amazon.com or the actual company that produced the game. The ultimate question is when is enough too much? If companies are just losing money by rele...

The only time I've noticed delay (I play with a psx/ps2 style gamepad) is when I'm not using first person view. I'm pretty sure the reason is because the physics of the game are accurately simulating the fact that it takes a short time for the car to display lateral movement initiated by turning the...

Agreed. I give you guys props for being involved and keeping an eye out. This isn't a #warez chan in irc. When a site's legit, it's gotta be all legit. And besides, I've gotten sick of finding hundreds of threads from people asking for help on making an illegal copy work. Warez is one of the few thi...

Thanks! Yeah, I was gonna release them here and on my site. I've hit a bit of an artist's rut lately and haven't gotten much further in the elise skins but I've done a few skins for other cars. I redid one of the Porsche 911t skins to theme it after a Japanese zero fighter in its coloration and mark...

Ummm...interesting question. Has to do with the car.ini files, but any changes you make to the engine power / car weight / gear ratios affect both acceleration and top speed. It'd take a good bit of math to do a combination that gives you higher accel without changing your final top speed.

Regarding the menus, buttons and lack of color on the car, sounds like a texture problem. Either you got a bad warez copy or your vidcard drivers aren't up to snuff (could be some settings you need to change on the card). For the steering, I don't really know because I don't use one. I use a gamepad...

I've seen this error before as well. The game does require the CD to be in the drive. If it isn't and you launch the game, it burps and tells you the registry or files are corrupt, please reinstall. All it really should say is "Insert CD." Funny thing I've seen with this error is that when...

NOCD not working with NFSHP2? -- Read This

Alright, so I've noticed a lot of people complaining about their warez copy not working. I have a fix that will definitely work: GO BUY A LEGAL COPY. To follow up my words of advice, yes, there are NOCD patches, but they're intended to work with LEGAL copies. A friend of mine DID show me how to make...

the 0000-a.bmp is the alpha channel, basically controls how light behaves on the skin. All white means everything has the colorfade/highlight effect. All black means everything is always visible with no reflection or highlighting.

I don't know about the glass though.

Developing a skin pack for the Lotus Elise - NFSHP2

I've been creating some custom skins for the Elise to replace the default skins. I haven't finished the package; when I do, it will replace every skin, including the HP Elise. I'm posting some small screenshots of what I've finished so far; if you want to see a larger version, contact me either thru...

I run windows xp, have had it on for about a year now, and I never got good performance out of NFS4. I patched it, ran it in compatibility mode and everything. Normally, the first lap of any given track was smooth as butter, but each subsequent lap got choppier and choppier. You could imagine how ho...
