Re: SHIFT long term support
Yeah, mirror option, decal colours, a larger limit on vinyl and decal size, more vinyls, and less insane AI will help. They will spear into you and not slow for the corner at times.
Oh, and more car slots would be good... stuff playing it to level 50 again -.-

Re: Drift Pain
Yeah... it's possible to win the events on keyboard, but it's completely and utterly retarded. Basically... line up to hit a clipping point at speed, as you approach , full throttle, then full opposite lock and your car should slide at a massive angle until it slows. Then aim for the next point and ...

Re: Manufacturer Vinyls
Juiced 2 also had a lot of glitches with the tuning, not many basic shapes so you could only use the themed stuff they gave you in particular colours, and you'd get much better layouts from prostreet. I gave up with the juiced system because there were too many glitches, panel gaps and you couldn't ...

Haha... they would've been much better off with anime-like graphics than low res textures... seriously.

^that's on PS2
And the Reventon and R8 look horrid. I've seen better games made independently. And what platform's this for?

Re: Bugs & Glitches in Need for Speed: SHIFT
All this Vista bashing... Vista 64 is more stable than XP 32 on my PC, it really isn't thaaat bad. Vista seems to be pretty good stability wise... and remember... this is a game for Vista. The problem lies with Shift or the Drivers. Have you tried using the generic PnP ones that are included with th...

Ok, that's pretty playable. I'd imagine this game is much more intensive than undercover or prostreet. I think a friend's old 8600MGT laptop did medium in Prosteet.

Re: What system settings are you running shift?
20FPS in game isn't much... it might have heat issues, but my 5600 artifacted when it got hot too. I can't offer that much help though because I'm not sure what the recommended video card is and if there are issues with mobile versions.

I'm getting full HD shots: http://www.nfsunlimited.net/showroom/im ... /52887.jpg
His are only 1280x800: http://www.nfsunlimited.net/showroom/im ... /37895.jpg and we still both get jaggies.
What card do u have? Does Shift use any DX10 features?

Re: Bugs & Glitches in Need for Speed: SHIFT
Wow, that's weird. Considering the drivers are being set up for grid rather than shift, I'm guessing the glitching is due to that. GRID does have quite strong lighting compared to shift.

Re: What system settings are you running shift?
Yeah, basically, try to get your resolution as high as possible... and textures as high as possible. Easy to do with a decent amount of lighting. Shadows and lighting usually give a good performance boost turned down as they can be quite intensive. AA is the last thing you put on as it kills perform...

Re: What system settings are you running shift?
Yeah, on my PC it's just at 60FPS the whole time. The monitor won't display higher. Did you try it on the different OSs? How does 7 compare to XP? Offtopic: Well startp is much faster than XP... it may take a little longer to get to the login screen, but I can start using it instantly... while I hav...

Re: What system settings are you running shift?
What's wrong with Vista? =-S It's the fastest, most stable and most user friendly OS I've ever used. Mac OS was by far the worst =-P and Linux was half decent.

Re: Videocards.. which to buy and whatnot.. simply videocards!
I've never had the Nvidia cards BSOD since the 7600GT >_> I'm now on a GTX 260. ATI was definitely the way to go 6 months ago, but then the GTX 260s came way down in price... tuned versions came out and now I paid $50 less vs a HD 4870 for something that runs cooler, quieter, saps less power, has Ph...

Re: What system settings are you running shift?
Why do you need to boot 5 OSs? I only see a need for XP 32bit and 7 x64 >_> + @Summ: Some people tend to have lower end PCs and just hang on to stuff. It wasn't until I went to a 9600GT that I went full HD. That being said... if you get a 9800 or GTX +, you should invest in a good screen nowdays. AT...

Re: Bugs & Glitches in Need for Speed: SHIFT
There is an Audio bug concerning the Xbox 360 version. When doing a Drift race in Quick Play, The first round, the EA Tracks play as well as the menu music. You also don't hear the engine of your car. The second round, everything seems fine, except nothing from crashes are audible. The third round ...

Re: Videocards.. which to buy and whatnot.. simply videocards!
I never really go top end with GFX... I spent more cash on an i7 and just ran a GTX 260 Gold. The only thing it doesn't max is Crysis... and considering it's the part that is most likely to be replaced (and easy to replace with PCI-E)... makes sense to go with the latest tech. SO just go with a good...

Re: Bugs & Glitches in Need for Speed: SHIFT
I actually agree with the reviews, despite the customisation annoyances, because it's about the game play which is quite interesting and rewarding. Online races even have benefits. In terms of glitches and performance, maybe some of the reviewers had optimum set-ups. This stuff doesn't happen to my ...
