Do you have a BenchMark ?
I think if you have DirectX 8.1b installed and you can run a BenchMark like 3DMark2001 it is possible. But if your card does not support DirectX or just OpenGL, than not. 
My advice, buy a cheap Nvidea 4 or Ati 8500 because this game is so cool !
