BREAKTHROUGH I've just successfully added a car directly into my Career Garage! The method is the same as it was in Most Wanted. You have to carry over the Career Info Slot for another car, and viola, the game will no longer crash! Yeah, I basicly did the same a few posts ago, swapping a career car...

You only have 10 career slots in a savegame, so you can add the BMW, but then your garage is really full.

True, but still there are 4 slots available for boss cars. Maybe, at some point, the guys at EA did want you to have the R8 in career, but then someone realised it was a good idea and scrapped it

Your garage is limited to 6 regular career cars + 4 'boss' cars you get by winning the pinkslip from the bosses.
You can hex-edit your regular career cars so the game thinks they are 'boss' cars and then buy more cars, but the max is 10.

Select 'view car' and there should be an option there to modify it when you're in 'view car' mode ...
