Re: Toyota Celica T Sport

F*** me, that's one heck of a torque line [/b]. Kudos to you and your buddy for starting a shop together. It takes a lot of gut and a lot of will to do something like that. =D> The car's looking spectacular as well. Can't wait to see the engine bay once you add the rest of your dress-up touches.

Re: First Gameplay Video for NFS Most Wanted

My two complaints are this- Number 1: What's with those crash physics? One tap to a competitor and they're off the road? Where's the fun in that!? It's not Burnout again, it's Need for Speed. Creating a virtualized, overblown game of bumper-cars kinda' ruins the experience for everyone. Number 2: Le...

Re: Will you buy Most Wanted 2012?

I saw an ad for this on Facebook and was surprised to see it was legit when I Googled it.

I'm with you on this one, I'll buy it if the reviews are good. And seeing how MW was my favorite NFS, I really hope they're good. :|

Re: Carcrazy's 1990 Nissan 240SX Build Thread

It's been how many months now? Time for an update! After I fully recovered from a sports-related concussion, I finally had time to start digging into the car again. I've picked up a load of goodies and have put in way too many hours of work to count, but it's finally coming together. I picked up a n...

Re: The Playstation 3 Thread

Because I honestly can't think of anything else post-worthy on the forum besides my build thread: It's ironic I made this thread, then bought an Xbox. Yay for being broke! ...but, just so I'm not a complete a-hole, here's some on-topic content. http://playstationlifestyle.net/2011/11/13/now-that-gra...

Re: Carcrazy's 1990 Nissan 240SX Build Thread

You really think so? I haven't seen a good DE for go for under $500 yet; hell people are trying to get $1,000 off of fresh rebuilds. Plus I'm hoping I get a good hundred bucks or so for the short-block in the S13 now. He threw in the ECU, vacuum & power-steering lines and reservoir; everything I...

Re: Carcrazy's 1990 Nissan 240SX Build Thread

Awesome, thanks Bogan. In light of only having a working KA short-block, I may scrap the SR/RB25 swap idea. I doubt I have the patience to wait a year before this thing runs - I may just buy a new head, re-build the bottom end and start looking into an FI build. I'll update the thread when I actuall...

Re: Carcrazy's 1990 Nissan 240SX Build Thread

My dad was looking at the engine with me earlier and noticed that the water pump looks brand new; there's hardly any dirt on it at all. I'm guessing this is what the mechanic fixed whenever he had it - there's no way he tore down the block, it's too dirty on the outside even if it has been sitting f...

Alright, so I've looked up a bit of info and also downloaded a tear-down video that I'm going to follow, but I've got one hurdle to get over before I can actually get crackin'. In an effort to save my back from thousands of tiny cuts due to the grass in my yard, I'm going to have to drive it up the ...

Yeah, I've got about a $500 budget (not including tools,) give or take, to get it running. After that I may decide to cut my losses and start looking for another engine.

Think it's enough?

Re: Carcrazy's 1990 Nissan 240SX Build Thread

What should I be looking for with the head, just warping? Can't I do that with a straight edge? What about valves and stuff? In regards to the cooling system, what should I be looking at? It looks like if it's leaking at all, it's only a very little bit. As for rust, like I said, other than the trun...

I'm not exactly in it for the long haul, but I needed to turn the car on long enough to figure out what was wrong with it. If it goes "pop" I'm not really going to be heartbroken... just plain broke for a while. Plus I should add that if I do a proper rebuild and not just what I'm re...

Re: Carcrazy's 1990 Nissan 240SX Build Thread

Okay, update! Got the car Saturday morning... had to get up at 5:45 after not getting in until after 3am from our football game. #-o Got 'er home, jumped her up, and after a try or two she ran on her own. We tried to jump her and drive her on to the trailer we brought, but the engine cut off as soon...

If we can't get something we already own to tow it then I'll have to ask one of my friends if they'll tow it with their DD. The good news about living in NC is that you never have a lack of friends with trucks. :P My mom has an old Lincoln Aviator that would tow it just fine, but you know, she refus...

Re: TECH TALK - ask your technical car questions

Point taken haha.

Another question, (I've got nothing but Google searches to run off of - this is how I learn lol.) What are the negative effects of an underdrive pulley? Just excessive wear due to the lack of the harmonic balancer, undervolting electrical systems on the car, or what?

Re: Carcrazy's 1990 Nissan 240SX Build Thread

I've been told the only problem it had was it was blowing white smoke out of the exhaust, which as far as my knowlege tells me it was burning oil. But I'm not sure, I'm having to have it towed here from out of town but until I get my hands on it I'm not sure I feel comfortable driving it across town...

Carcrazy's 1990 Nissan 240SX Build Thread

What, does that title say what I think it does!? Yeah, it does. I got sick of wasting money on a 1.8l Corolla. :P Long story short, I was saving up for a full exhaust (from the heads back - it would've been sick) for the Corolla, but when I was having a conversation with one of my friends and he men...
