Re: Ugly Cars
Yeah I don't really like where 21st century's designs are going... Actually, I'm with you on that. I have seen so many fewer attractive cars these days than in the mid- to late-90s. I don't care for all of the swoopy lines, bubble cars, and freakazoid (Nissan) cubes in auto design these days. And d...

Re: TECH TALK - ask your technical car questions
2) If your car can idle smoothly in 5th gear and maintain speed at 30mph, then do that. Sounds like BS to me though 30 is no big deal in 5th. 1100 RPMs easy peasy. In 4th its more like 1300. 3.0L Yamaha V6 ftw (/fanboy). P.S.: By idle, I mean with no input from me. That's maybe 1100 to 1200 RPMs in...

Re: TECH TALK - ask your technical car questions
Ok, this one may be complicated, so hopefully I can keep the various parts organized. First, I've heard it's best to leave a modern car in gear on hills and coasting to stops for fuel efficiency, but is this true of Automatics as well? Also, when I drive between 25 and 30 mph I can choose either 4th...

Re: Welcome to the forum! Who are you? (The First Post Threa
Hi! Obviously, this is not my first post, but after a couple of years, it seems an introduction is in order. I live in Virginia, US. I am a painter (like houses, not art). I drive a 1995 Ford Taurus SHO. Some of you may remember me being a majorly stubborn fanboy of this car (and others). Feel free ...

Re: Your favorite MUSCLE car
I think that the new Corvettes should be scratched as muscle cars. I say this on the basis that ANY car that can go around corners instead of through them should be scratched as a muscle car. The whole point is to go very fast in a straight line and die very quickly. Hence: '69 Charger R/T '71 Chall...

And I'm supposed to be IMPRESSED by your choice of a G8 GT? It's just a Common-w***e. It's not that brilliant.... Actually, I meant to be more sarcastic, but failed. In fact, I epic failed, because I chose the GT over the GXP (I forgot about it). I really do like it, but mostly because it's big , c...

Re: Favorite Car?
Easily the finest engine ever put in a ford car, IMO. (Prolly 'cause it's a Yamaha 24-Valve DOHC) I can think of much better Ford engines. The 5.4l supercharged V8 from the GT, for one. And the 3.0 Ford Duratec V6 is a better engine- both as standard in the ST220, and turbocharged in the Noble M12 ...

On the topic of sports sedans. I'd have a Pontiac G8 GT. Bwahahahah. This question is seriously lacking in choices (CTS-V Anyone?).

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
And what's wrong with the original M1, hmm? but the lines of the rear of the car, particulalry from the back and 3/4 views, are incredible and the more I look the more I can see how it's a homage to the original. This is kinda what I meant. As a car, it might not be a looker, but as an homage, I li...

That M1 thing isn't too bad, considering the first one.

Re: Just want to talk? Come here.
That really is strange. Probably before you get the new car just take an uber long drive in your old car as like a final drive sorta thing. The problem with that is that there is so much wrong with it that it would be impossible to take it on any long trips. For instance: The windows don't work The...

I hate to interrupt, but I just realized that I think my car is trying to guilt trip me. Within a day or two, I will have a new daily driver. I have enjoyed this one a lot, but it is now old --well, it was when I got it, actually-- and there are quite a few things wrong with it. But I noticed today ...

My bad, Jop. I read it wrong. Mañana also means tomorrow (Following day). I don't know why my brain did that. Anyhow, Toquéis is a second person plural conjugation of tocar. Generally, that verb form is only used widely in certain parts of Spain where the original form of Spanish called "Cast...

Re: It's time for me to start driving
The age at which you may have a driver's license varies by state in the US.
My cousin lived in Alaska for a while and got his learners at 14 1/2 and his license at 16. I know in Virginia, you must be 15 1/2 for the learners and 16 and 3 mos. for a license. But, like I said, it varies.

No, no, no, no, no.
It says Manera, not Mañana.
It means that they Configured whatever a Devhook was in 'the following Manner.'
I suspect it went on to demonstrate exactly how they configured the whatsit.
