yes, there is.
jump to the garage, then select 'world map' and now you can scroll through the shown races on the map and drive them (without driving there in the city). But you have to do the exploring some times to find new shops, hidden races or just doing outruns (to get unique upgrades)

No, quickraces are 'quick' races outside the story. You'll never get new parts or tunig thing only doing quickraces.
I thought there is 'start career' as on option in the main menu.

*nod* Yes, the AI is quite dumb and got several real problems on some of the url-races (driving strange s-type curves on straight lines eg). The story isn't really a big thing (well, what did you expect from a story in a streetracing game anyway? ;-) "save the world" by driving a car :-) )...

I think a higher steering ratio makes the car react more 'direct'. But I feel the full effect only when disabling the stability control.

afaik the 106 and the corsa will be in the europe-version only. the civic and the rsx will be in the us-version only.

@urquattro :-/ totally agree the first 2 1/2 laps of a 3 lap circuit race don't really matter, maybe you're 4-5s behinde the cpu, maybe the cpu is .. you only have to drive the last parts well.
