i have the same card.

you can set everything to max, run at 1024x768, but turn off light trails, motion blurr, and particle effects (tire smoke, it's useless)

you can set everything else to max and it'll work.

i had the same problem, i finished the game with my supra- and was going to do all the outruns so i can get the uniques AFTER the game was beaten, so i didn't have to worry about races, and then this crap starts up. this really really sucks =(
