Re: What car do you drive ?
Was it a GTi? Theres a massive difference between a carbed 1.4/injection 1.1 and the 1.6/1.9 GTi 205. Besides the body shell, literally EVERYTHING. 205=Lift-off oversteer galore. Try that in a 206 (even in a GTi 180, and trust me, I have!) and you just get understeer, and understeer, and find yourse...

Re: About Peugeot Cars
Stiggy-boy's about right. As I've said before, the last proper driver's car Peugeot ever made was the 205 GTi/T16. That was a riot- but that was over 20 years ago! VW invented the hot-hatch and then lost their way, but they've found it again these days (new Polo GTi for example- 1150kg with a DSG bo...

Re: What car do you drive ?
Sorry, it just isn't. It was pitted against the Mk4 Golf, which althought a bit bloated and numb, was far, far better built, rides and handles better and was much more reliable. The real thorn in the 206 is the Mk1 Ford Focus- less powerful than the VW motors on the whole, but just as well built, fa...

Re: What car do you drive ?
Early 90's-106??? The 106 its not so good... The 106 Rallye is a great car- I got to play with a Super 1400 prepared one a year or two back at Castle Combe's rally special stage. Shame they're so damn unreliable- the one I was driving had a knackered ECU that cut out if the engine dropped below 150...

Re: Sport Sedans Competition
EVO!No chances...I vote EVO. Meh. The Evo isn't really in the same class as the others. It's not that usable, or that comfortable. Sure, it's a great fast car but in terms of being a brilliant all-rounder it's way behind the others (Evo X excepted, which is rather let down by the fact it looks like...

I've completely ditched the standard L-Jetronic based system, so it's running a full standalone with MAP sensor. Running the BOV into the exhaust is a very interesting idea! I would be worried about heat though. Since the car is mid-engined, the exhaust is not very long and it still gets kinda hot ...

im HOPING that my first car will be a Skyline or Eclipse <not the new model> but that might be hard to find in this country, and i doubt ill have the money to import one any time soon, unless i win a lottery then importing costs would be no problem. That would be hard pretty much anywhere. Here in ...

Re: What car do you drive ?
French cars of the 80's/early 90's = cool.
French cars of the mate 90's - present = fail.
In fact, I can't think of a single good car to come out of France since the 205 T16.

Re: Popular Japanese cars during the 80's - 90's
Not sure the NS-X is exactly a popular car- you would have seen that discussed above if you'd bothered to read the thread before you posted. The 240 was never sold in Japan and was only built for the export market, it also was completely gutless- 180SX/200SX maybe.

As of yesterday the MR2 is finally on the road! It's not tuned yet but I've got it running well enough to drive around without the engine dying or misfiring like crazy. I've gone for a couple of drives so far, just going through break-in procedures. There is a problem though . . . it's very, very f...

That really sucks, snake. Hope the insurance co will understand that you were initially passing/overtaking in a zone where it was allowed. And oh man, I feel so close to my license... O_O Passed my driver's education class exam today, all that is left is for my damn passport to come in, approx 2-4 ...

Re: What car do you drive ?
@SS: Man, that sucks. How bad is the damage to the car? Probably a write-off. The front drivers side took the entire impact- airbags deployed, front light pretty much destroyed, intercooler pipework destroyed, drivers side driveshaft, suspension assembly, wheel and brake in a pretty bad way, front ...

Re: What car do you drive ?
The Audi might have to be put up for sale when my insurance renewal comes, as I've just had my first ever accident whilst driving on the roads. The A4 is in the shop at the moment having the rear bushes replaced so I borrowed my better half's Golf TDi to drive to work. Part-way down an A-road on the...

Re: Coolest cars you've seen
The wheels are HRE single-piece forged aftermarket jobies, rather than the Compomotive engineered UK-market wheels. They're standard on the Rossion but are only avaliable in 5-lug, so the hubs were changed- at a guess they're running Porsche, VAG or BMW fitment hubs to allow them to run HRE wheels. ...

I bet it's a Rossion Q1- they looks a bit like the M15. But better, IMHO. Re: Coolest cars you've seen
You didn't see a Noble M15 as they never entered production- it was a stillborn concept . You may have seen a Rossion Q1, which is a US-built, rebodied Noble M400. The M15 was consigned to a run of (from memory) 3 cars, all of which are still in the UK- if I remember correctly, one became the basis ...

That's the odd thing about the Corrado. I drove a G60 one again quite recently and it didn't feel like a 15 year old car- it felt taut and muscular and modern.

Re: What car do you drive ?
Sensible buy, but fitting a turbo is no mean feat, even if the engines are nearly identical. They'll run different compression ratios, which means new pistons and rods and possibly a new crank. Injectors will need to be bigger, rad probably need to be moved to shove in an intercooler, plumb lots of ...

Is the Calibra any good? To me they've always seemed a bit like Cavaliers in a sharp suit, and Cavs are pretty rubbish...I remember lining up against a V6 one when I was at Santa Pod with my old Corrado VR6 and completely trouncing it. I also remember going head to head with one of the 4x4 Turbo one...

Re: Toyota Celica T Sport
Problem is, if the speakers are upgraded in the car, the sound quality will still be restricted by the stock toyota head unit. This isn't strictly true. It's quite possible, in fact quite easy, to run heavily upgraded components of a standard head unit with equal (or even greater) sound quality to ...

Re: Favorite Car?
I've fallen back in love with the M3 CSL. A mate of mine, who used to run a Z3M Coupé, has recently bought one, pretty much same spec as my old one so Thorney Motorsport Stage II: fast road cams, remapped Alpha-N engine management, Eisemann exhaust, UUC pulleys, 6-pot AP Racing brakes front with 4-...
