I have a Ati x300 512 mb 16x PCI-E and NFSU2 runs kinda slow... but it works great at 800x600 with everything full, but x-box gfx are a bit better than ps2, but it deffinetly depends on your pc gfx...

The thing is, if you don't have a computer with at least the specs of PS2, your computer needs major upgrading. The PS2 has really low specs compared to an average computer of today.

The computer will always be better than a console to some extent. It's as simple as that.

What 2furio is right... People dont always have a ps2 and a good pc... its usually either or...

Hmmm, tried it on my projector today and surprisingly, It, looks quite good.
I may hook my pc up to the projector permanently...

can a greater RAM affect the graphics? I have 512 MB Ram. But changing the graphics extra high makes my pc respond slow.

my cf hoods are shiny, but not solid black. i say PC gfx are better. you can upgrade a pc to get better performance, but you're stuck with what sony gives you on the ps2

. anyways i play on a 3000+ amd processor, 512mb ddr sdram, 160gb hardrive with an nvidia pny verto geforce 5700ve and i say it beats ps2 by a long shot.

Ok here's what I think:

1. Console graphics are limited by the TV. 800x600 is about the max or else it just looks blurry.

2. Console specs are not directly comparible to PC because of different hardware. Just compare a PC to a similar Mac and see what the Mac user says (loads of fun to p**s off your mates!)

3. Most modern PC's have 256mb graphics memory. This means that they can handle higher quality textures etc. Max res. is limited by your monitor more than anything else (and how fast games run I know, don't be awkward).

4. Sometimes ports to different systems can be bad. I found the XBox version of the original NFSU to have crappy frame rate etc. when it should have been better than the PS2.

5. HDTV is coming!
