Hey, I have a question about the last video posted, why does the BMW sound different? Did it has lower level parts or something because like for example in the video one for this,
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/driving/ne ... media.html
Then click game footage 1
And then this one sounds totally different
http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/740/740898/vids_1.html
then click Aim For the heavens, why does it sound like that?

I'm not in the mood of downloading videos right now... but I will tell you something: If they sound differently, it's great news! I mean, the more sounds variety, the better!
It happens in nfsu2. When you install different engine parts the car sounds differently. Which is realistic! I think the best thing of NFSMW will be the sounds, just as in NFSU2.

Well yeah I already know that because I have NFSU2 but I just was wondering if they would sound different for different game stations like for example,^Sparco^ wrote:I'm not in the mood of downloading videos right now... but I will tell you something: If they sound differently, it's great news! PS2- it would have a lvl 3 engine sound kind of lame
Xbox- would have the engien sound alot more powerfull and well I don't know how to explain it.
I just want to get the most of of the game since I have a ps2 and I can't get XBOX 360 until 2006.

hey i watched those vids on ign and noticed something awesome! when the cops kinda stop you and are starting to surround you, they start boxing you in and a litle meter shows up on your hud and it shows how close they are to getting you busted, when the guy driving backed up it went down, and when they boxed him in again it went up! so they could hae you boxed but not have you busted until the meter fills all the way, watch the movie "Aim for the heavens" i think it is, but youl see. one reason i like this is because in nfshp2 you would like still be moving and it would say your busted. (btw the driver in that movie is horrible!)

the PS2 suffers from having less memory, so some cars will have lower resolution on the PS2 which sometimes makes them loose their "edge" a bit. For example, we have 2mb on the PS2 to store all sound playing at any given time, and on the Xbox we have double that amount. Hope that explains why you're hearing the difference. On MW, this difference will be even more apparent as we went to town on making extra things for the Xbox360 (and some which got carried over into the Xbox as well).
Since you liked the sounds in UG2, here's some sound tips on MW:
- You'll have almost double the amount of Car sounds compared to UG2
- In UG2 we had 50+ variations of turbo sounds and 1 supercharger, now each type of supercharger is modelled to how it sounds in real life.
- We upped the amount of crash-sounds from 110 to over 500 since you hit tons and tons of objects and cars
- There's over 12000 lines of cop dialog, modelled after real conversations from cops to base-station, inbetween cops etc. Several people have spend 2 years on getting this aspect to be as good as possible. We casted from over 350 actors to make sure we got people that sounded good and real. A complete new A.I. cop speech system was written from the ground up.
- Paul Linford who was part of the scoring team for Gone in 60 seconds, Bad Boys 2 etc. scored this game. Over 45 minutes of pursuit-pounding music which adapt to your every move. Some people on the team say that playing without sound is now not even an option anymore
Hope this helps.

EDIT2: Argh, ok nevermind, ignore this. I was hoping the X360 video would contain new MW footage but it's all old. Sorry.
EDIT3: This better be new:
Developer Team Interview:
Justin Wiebe - Associate Producer
http://www.eagames.com/official/nfs/mos ... stin_wiebe
EDIT4: Interesting bit from the interview:
CT: Rumor has it that you've developed a love for motorcycles. Think we'll ever see motorcycles in a Need for Speed game? What other types of vehicles can we expect to see?
JW: That is true I am a motorbike guy now, and trust me when I say, I've brought up the fact that I'd love to see licensed sport bikes and cruisers in a future title. Poor cars might have a hard time keeping up to them though.
My Respone: NOOOOOO! Fire this guy IMMEDIATELY!!!! Don't let him destroy the NFS franchise completely.
