Hydraulics and other newbie queries (in NFSU2)

Post by Vajra »

Other than showing off and magically adding a ton to the star value, what good does a hydro system do?

I've read on the U2 tips on the official site that some engage the hydro in midair for -something-, or to make their cars do spectacular wheelies at launch. Care to shed any light on the use of hydraulics?

Also, what is the use of putting LCDs (much less a multiple battery of LCDs) in the trunk? I bet it isn't to watch DVDs at a car picnic XD

hydros and trunk stuff serve no purpose other than "showing off". hydros can, however, earn you style points, but that becomes quickly inconvenient to do during a race.

Hydros have a purpose in the start of drag races on some car like 240sx and rx-7 cause of the wheelie start that improves times.
Some players also use supension on start in circuit and sprint races cause corolla wheels slide less or none with this method during start

Just a bunch of ricer crap :)

Seriously though, if anything they would make the car worse. All the weight of that hydraulics equipment, the LCD screens and all that other gaudy ricer crap makes the car really slow.

Hydraulics are for pimps and their show ponies.

No practical race car would have hydraulics on it.

We are discussing on the pratical use on NFSU2 not on a real car and on U2 suspension have the 2 pratical use i said. All best draggers even on wr project use them for whelie start

By practical, I mean all purpose, not just drag racing.

But really, the only game I've played where hydraulics were practical was Midnight Club 2.....

I am talking about Hydraulics Pressure not Hydraulics Bounce just to be clear (and sorry if i not explained well but english is not my mothertongue).
I saw Hydrauilic Bounce used only one time with a pratical use, when i downloaded a video of a spirnt race when it was used at the start combined with Hydraulics pressure to obtain more burnout nos refill point, 100 for nitro show + 25 for bounce + 511 burnout, cause in sprint one cnnot do as in curcuit 2 or 3 laps to refill it before the launched lap
By the way Hidraulics pressure is used on the start of 4 type of races so i think they are usefull.

P.S.: As most, but not all knows, Hydraulic pressure start work well only if combined with particular setup of the car both in drag, and circuit sprint.

Well they are usefull when your car is too low and you cannot pass some hole on road so you rise your height of car!

And for what do LCD's achieve in a boot? Think of Dominic Toretto's RX-7 in The Fast And The Furious.

Something like that, but he raised the car to pass (We call that lying cop, that our police use to slow us down on dangerous places/roads or roads for wich they think that are awsome for street racing!
Spartan Recumbent = lying!

He means a speed hump. They're sometimes called 'sleeping policemen'.

However, the topic here is whether hydraulics and lcd screens can serve any useful purpose in Need For Speed Underground 2, the game. Real life has nothing to do with it.
