Oblivion The Elder Scroll IV
Oblivion The Elder Scroll IV
Any one more then me who is waiting for this game? It is going to be the best RPG game ever, no other RPG game is going to come close to this.
Yes the PC is the way to go, I have done a lot of mods for TES Morrowind with its expansion packs, and cant wait to see the new construction set in TES IV.Nasadus wrote:I'll be getting this game for sure. Just don't know if i will get it for the 360 or the PC. But thinking about it i think i'll get it for the PC.It will run fine on my rig and the mods will come sooner or later.
I thought about bringing this topic back to life now that the game is out.
Soo... Who in here is playing it?
I've been playing it for almost a week now and it's really great!
I never thought i could like this kind of a game so much.
Never really been much into rpg's except for maybe the Fallout series.
But never really into this mages and knights stuff.
Well i did play Runescape but it was because i couldn't really play any other online game with a modem .
But anyways... Oblivion exceeded all my expectations.
It looks great even without putting all the gfx to the max.
(Which i couldn't really do because not even my pc can handle it )
The atmosphere is great and the countless quests are awesome but can be a bit repetetive at times.
And i read somewhere that the world is 16 square miles in the character's proportion!
And that doesn't include the numerous underground mines and caves but just the land.
Also the game is really addictive.
Been playing it like for 3-4 hours every day for the last 6 days or so.
Only negative thing really is some bugs that the game has.
Usually they're not that big of a deal but just now i had to do a quest all over again because of a bug...

Im waiting to get it. I hope it is not like Morrowind (I mean it ins the sense, that I played Morrowind an estimate of 150 hours o.O)
No, really, I couldn't sto playing it, and it made me loose complete notion of time. I don't like RPG's, but this game is something different. Probably one of the best games ever.

i want to get this game so effin bad. but my computer won't run it!! >_<
i only have a 64mb integrated nvidia gfx chip and 512mb standard memory all because my computer rejects any other gfx adapter and it rejected my two 1gig memory sticks (yes, 1 gig of memory per stick!! i am planning on selling them..)
i would really get into this game. i've played morrowind for numerous hours. and i find it better for PC cause of the CS that comes with it allowing you to mod the game itself. i might get it, to see if it will run or not. if not, oh well, i'll have it for back-up. (my mom's cousin builds gaming computers hehe maybe i can get a good deal! )

I'd change the motherboard myself.
I actually saw someone else whining about that machine while searching for specs for it and he had changed the mobo for it and now it supposedly works like a charm.
But that frying sounds odd.
I'm not really an expert but the voltages on your machine are probably f'd up.
Usually the main reason i wouldn't buy some pre-made pc is because they usually come with crappy motherboards.
I bet if you change it the thing will start working like it's supposed to.
Or you could just take the machine to a pro and let them figure out the problem.
I did that after fighting with my computer for a couple of months and i had no clue what the problem was.

Well i suppose the selection for Socket-A mobos isn't that good anymore.
And i dunno if there are Socket-A mobos with pci-e slots.
If you can find one get it .
But here's a cheap but still a quality brand mobo that would be suffice:
It has a good chipset too.

Well i don't think there are any other XP 3000+ CPU's than Soc-A .
There used to be a Slot-A too for athlons but i think they stopped making those years ago.
And i haven't played any other Elder Scrolls games so i dunno about the races.
But here they are: http://www.oblivionportal.com/info/races.php

good they kept the same races. and they look much better! especially the khajiit!
you should check out morrowind: game of the year.. bad gfx compared to oblivion, but it has a great line to it. and the bloodmoon expansion really adds to it with lycanthropy.
thanks for the info on the socket a. i might just look into getting that mobo and seeing if it'll accept my stuff

i love the TES series. they're all really great. this one though catches my eye because of magic, blocking, combat, ranged attacks, and stealth all come together to form a new fighting style! i think i might buy it! i wish they'd have released a demo though, so i can test to see if it would run on my computer or not. not to mention to test it out.

Got a slight bit of info pre-E3
http://www.modojo.com/news/20060425/598/
Appears that this might just solidify the Playstation 3 being a November release even more, I don't know how well Oblivion will be regarded on the console area, but hopefully it shall be good
