Post by GT3x24x7 »

Micro$oft consolers rejoice, online Need For Speed 2 racing will be available on the Xbox Live! network by the end of 2004, finally bringing the awesome online Underground experience to XBox gamers.

This is part a a huge deal struck between Electronic Arts and Microsoft and announced yesterday in Los Angeles. It will bring almost the entire catalog of online EA games to the Microsoft console gaming network by the end of 2004.

Some games will see an accelerated appearance on the network - NCAA Football 2005 in July, Madden NFL 2005 in August, with NBA Live 2005, FIFA Soccer 2005, NHL 2005, NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 following closely behind.

Other games will take longer to appear. Currently, 15 online EA titles are scheduled for XBox Live! debuts by the end of the year. Among the confirmed titles are Burnout 3, TimeSplitters Future Perfect, Battlefield: Modern Combat, GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and yes, Need for Speed Underground 2!

Interesting too, because M$ Games used to compete with EA... I wonder what's the deal on that now.

I'm sure most of us saw this coming once EA's exclusive online contract with Sony ended.

The two most money hungry software companies joining forces - this should be... interesting.
