Understeer/Oversteer are backwards!

Post by treydeal »

I know this may be known by some members of the forum, but when I discovered this on my own it made NFS:C a brand new game. There's nothing like having a max accel Z06 in pursuit sliding thru every turn! Canyon drifting is a BLAST! Once again, my apologies if this is well-known, but I wanted everyone to be perfectly clear on this EA mistake.

I too discovered this whilst tuning my Corvette, as when I tuned the suspension for the slight oversteer, I actually found that my cornering ability decreased greatly, which resulted in me going head first into walls that I’d never normally hit. However, when I tuned the Corvette’s suspension for slight understeer, I found that the cornering ability increased to a level that suits my driving style perfectly.

I also applied the same principle to my Camaro SS and Mustang GT, and each cars cornering was improved for me to the point where I could easily run the Fortuna Race Wars on the hard difficulty without feeling the need to activate the speed breaker through the tightest sections of the lap.

So Understeer actually increases your turning? I want confirmation.
