In Aberdeen? What a stupid idea. Of course they would get messed up. The ammount of road salt and grit used in the UK would pit the lips beyond belief.viper16 wrote:okay im getting a widebody s13 with an SR20DET can i put on a 4.5 inch lip wheel and not get messed up.
As to actually fitting a wheel with such large a lip? Well that entirey depends on how wide the aforementioned body kit is. But at a guess, 4.5" is going to be a 12" or 13" wheel minimum, and that's a liiiiitle large for anything, unless it's out on the rears of something with a hell of a lot of horsepower.

Then youll realise that, at 18 having just passed your test and probably still being in education, you cant afford the £4000+ it costs just to buy a 180SX, plus the import costs. Youll also probably find that insurance companies will laugh at you for even wanting a standard one, you wont have time to reel off a spec list big enough for 500bhp before they either die laughing, or put the phone down on you. I had the same problem, and I was 19 when I tried...viper16 wrote:hey it might you dont know
Even if a miracle happened and you got one, I dont think youd realise just how crippling fuel costs are. Im running just shy of 300bhp on a very mild set-up, on average I expect to see 15mpg. Doesnt mean a lot in figures, so Ill put it like this:
I know the people of the two nearest Shell petrol stations on first name terms since I bought this car a year ago. Thats 8 different members of staff in stations four miles apart. Why do I know them so well? Because part of my daily routine before work is a trip to fill up on V-Power, which currently is 94.9p per litre. I have to use V-Power due to the HD chip on the car, and to prevent any knock. On average, just going to work and back, I spend £10 per day on fuel. Thats before driving to friends houses, before going to car meets, trackdays, even shopping...
If we meet in 5 years time, I wont be surprised at all if youre driving a Renault Clio. I wouldnt blame you either.

Although V-Power is 99RON, SR20DETS in Japan run often on 102RON or higher. Most stations in the US dont offer petrol above 93RON, some 95, and very few offer 97. I know this from the US SX boards, LS1tech, Honda-Tech...just a few of the numerous US-based car forums Im part of.
If youre buying a 240SX, why did you mention the 180SX? Of course you do realise the work involved in swapping the SR in dont you? Youre looking at a lot more than that for an S15 SR, bearing in mind you will personally have to get it shipped from Japan. Youll also need an S15 ECU, S15 6-speed box, S15 wiring loom, along with a host of other SR parts that youll need to transfer...Also, why HKS parts? Im going to take a wild stab in the dark and say that the point to which youve thought this through is that ''Im 15, so I want one''.

*Sigh*
Reasons why that isnt legitimate:
-The S15 didnt even start being produced until 1999. Up until that point, youre looking at the S14A, which used the previous generation of SR, and made 197bhp.
-The SR20DET from a spec-R has 8.5:1 compression ratio. The figure quoted there is the comp. ratio for the spec-S/Varietta, which is an N/A engine.
- You wouldnt need the MAF sensor as a seperate item, it should come with the engine. Same goes for the T28 turbo, the exhaust manifold, CAS, injectors...need I go on? Those arent ancillaries, theyre main parts. Theyre adding those as a ''wow, look what you get!!'' to make it seem impressive, in reality, theyre missing some key components. Namely:
1. PAS pump
2. Youll need your own KA ECU harness to butcher
3. KA dashboard water temp. sensor
4. Propshaft
5. Diff with an ABS sensor
6. Frequency convertor board
7. SR radiator/pipes
8. SR metal outlet 'hot pipe' from turbo
9. KA accelerator cable bracket holder from plenum
10. SR heater hoses
11. SR brass restrictor from fuel return pipe
12. SR ECU carrier
Then you have to factor in the compatability issues between the SR models, for example with the CAS and AFM. If you dont get the NATS parts from the same car, it wont start at all.
Then theres no mention of wiring...
