McLaren F1 (NOT LM!)

Post by ryu-hayabusa »

omg. I love this car! I know a couple of facts about it...

3 seats, driver in the middle.
Top speed: 230.
0-60: 3.4 seconds.
A small wing pops up at high speeds.
:D
Is there any facts not on there? Besides the facts MOST people know... Also post nice pics of it... :lol:

LOL you do know that the F1 LM road legal version so without the stickers and so on is even faster and more stunning.... also even harder to drive....

BTW there is a McLaren F1 (standard.... btw is that possible standard??) around my city... some seen it... I personally did not see it but a few did...
quiet a sight knowing there where only 75 build for customer use... and at least one is totaled bij Rowen Adkinson.... :P

Seen one in Moscow, but I heard there are more than one there. I wouldn't be surprised at all at that actually. Whether it was LM or not, who cares!

Hmmm... if I'm not mistaken the only difference between the F1 and F1 LM is the wing, isn't it? If it is then the LM would be the slower one because the wing would actually slow it down.

The price for the F1 (as certified for sell in USA) is $980,000. So he was nuts to total it. I would only drive a McLaren at 5 mph and always stay 20ft in front and behind the other cars. :p

But since I'm only 13 (shocking, isn't it?) I can't get it. But if my dad or bro had one I would drive on the left side of the car (the side the driver usually drives on) and wave at people to see what they think that a 13 year old is driving an insane machine. lol. :p

The difference between Mclaren F1 and F1LM is the color:
*F1 --> Red, White, silver
*F1LM --> Orange

Hi peeps...

I could list every difference, but I don't know them all, but I do know this

The McLaren F1 LM was a limited edition run of the McLaren F1, due to there Le Mans wins in 1995 of 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th place. Only 5 were built...all in McLaren Orange
The McLaren F1 LM is Lighter and weighs kgs less. It is faster accelerating (both cars reach 60mph in 1st gear...try that in a Fiesta) the F1 in 3.2sec and the F1 LM in 3.0sec as it cas a lower ratio gearbox and a lower top speed because of this, and the drag from the spoiler and reaches only 220mph instead of 231+mph (as it has gone 240, but not sure if its official.) Why 220 when it was a celebration of their Le Mans Victory I don't know, but I love em anyways. The F1 LM also has a different front
There was also a McLaren F1 GT which was considerably longer and wider, to accomodate its rear wing which was built into the body, rather than bolted on...more weight though. Also had a six-speed sequential gearbox.

McLaren F1 facts
F1 627bhp
F1 LM 660bhp
-Their engine Bays are lined with gold.
-6.1 litre V-12 Engine provided by BMW - arrived however many kilos under target weight.
-300 were planed to be made, but only 100 were built.
-McLaren's aftercare service will set up the car seat and pedals to fit rour measurements, and will fly out to you wherever you are in the world to fix your car.
-McLaren keeps the sales of their cars private, and will not say who has bought one...(they let their buyers do that :lol:
-Rear wing on McLaren F1 pops up underbraking, to keep the rear of the car adhered to the ground.
-Car has a flat underbody to utilise "ground effect" and keep the car to the track. Also has 2 fans to help it stick :D
-Rowan Atkinson should be charged with "crimes against automotive kind"

Hope You've enjoyed my essay, bye for now

Now the supra is just a classic car, which can never be forgotten.
Just travelling along the M25, and this black Supra comes flying past...wanted one since then.
Is that the one with the twin turbo's?

Lucky devil :D
