Started to play again, didn't installed that 1.66a patch, because it freezes in the 1st race. I'm a bit scared though, I hope the saves won't mess up again ... found this Save Protector, I hope it does it's job.

Re: Test drive unlimited
I tried reinstalling the game with and without the patch yesterday... no luck
Anyone know why my GFX card is being a pain (The problems started after I installed new drivers, but even after I uninstalled them the game didn't work like before)?
PS - It's an X1300 Pro.

Dang... once again, try deleting the Radial.cdb file and rerunning the game. If you're sure this is a GFX problem, try the FPS-increasing mods (the FX.ini and weather.ini or whatever, files) that you can get off of the Atari forum.Porsche-AG wrote:I tried reinstalling the game with and without the patch yesterday... no luck![]()

Porsche, use the drivers from the card's CD, happens to my Ati card as well, I have to install the cd drivers in order to play some games.

Re: Test drive unlimited
@ RedCarDriver: Yes, I'm quite sure that is a graphics problem as I can run the game (really slowly with a low FPS) on my laptop and if I could run the game fine before without deleting those files, I'm sure that they're not the problem.
@ danyutz: Alright, I'll definitely try doing that as it seems the most logical solution to the problem I have.

Re: Test drive unlimited
I had that kind of issue too, with my old 6200. I was trying to play TDU with everything on low. I installed some drivers from the official website, and after that it ran at 20-25 FPS.
Hope you solve the problem.

Re: Test drive unlimited
Hate to bring up a dead topic... on most games I can push AA up to at LEAST 4x, but in TDU even at 2x it becomes laggy for some reason, I'd have to run it at 800x600, which kinda' defeats the purpose, does tuning the game from the nVidia CP actually work better?BrontoX wrote:I have the 9600GT and i turn on AA from the nvidia control panel and HDR from the game. Try turning AA from the ATi control panel and see if it works.prince1142003 wrote:Just a quick question, what kind of graphics cards do you guys have? TDU on my system absolutely refuses to turn on AA even though I set it in the options. I have an ATI X1600 (or 1650, can't remember), and AA works just fine in other games.

Re: Test drive unlimited
My game doesn't lag with AA on, however getting AA on is a pain in the ass. I have to use ATI Tray Tools and keep the configuration window open while running TDU. That's the only way I can get TDU to register the external AA settings.Carcrazy wrote:Hate to bring up a dead topic... on most games I can push AA up to at LEAST 4x, but in TDU even at 2x it becomes laggy for some reason, I'd have to run it at 800x600, which kinda' defeats the purpose, does tuning the game from the nVidia CP actually work better?BrontoX wrote:I have the 9600GT and i turn on AA from the nvidia control panel and HDR from the game. and they're complaining about it not being out, on the TDU Forums...

I managed to get TDU to work by installing the original graphics driver!
Now comes the tough decision of whether I should buy the megapack...

If, by your name, I can assume you're a major Porsche fan (although that's a rather obvious statement), I must bring up that the Megapack includes Porsches... sort of, if RUFs count.Porsche-AG wrote:Now comes the tough decision of whether I should buy the megapack...
Also, I've made another sound mod. You can get it (and the Skyline R34 one) here:
http://www.geocities.com/hkvideogamer/tdu.html
The new one is a Ferrari F430 sound and I think it sounds pretty good. Yes, it works for both the Spyder and the Coupe.
