Supercars are, for the most part, really quite small. An R8 is only about the same length as a Golf.boganbusman wrote:But it's not really that small is it? I figured it was about Ferrari 430-sized, and those have V8s

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Did any of you, guys, see the new 911?
Watch a little preview of it here.
The main differences from this face-lift model and the old one are:
-Direct Fuel Injection
-Seven-speed automatic double-clutch gearbox, called PDK(Porsche-Doppelkupplung)
-New ECU System
-Launch Control System
-New Exhaust
-LED Daylights
-LED Tail-lights
-Ventilated seats
and more...
It says it's gonna be faster than the old 997.
//me likes it.

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
I'm going to test-drive a Carrera 4S Tagra when my local dealership has one. I'd love to get one but a lot depends on the way things are going in the UK. I don't worry too much about the "credit crunch" but if it translates to a cut in millitary spending I might be in rockier waters.

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
But are you willing to pay 7k pounds for 30bhp more?
Or get the Carrera 4S with less and still get the same performances.
But anyways, would be nice to have another 911.

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
I love Tagras with a passion. My eventual aim would be to build an AWD GT3 RS-rep Tagra. Can't say you'd see many of them about . In that aspect it might be easier to pick a standard Carrera 4 but I'm sure finding a written off GT3 might be hard.taz947 wrote:But are you willing to pay 7k pounds for 30bhp more?

Nice dream you've got there.
Anyways, it's Targa, not Tagra.

I wonder if it will be a lardy, underpowered faux muscle car like the 350Z tooTheStig wrote:Looks like a 350Z with diff headlights, and that's about it.

They've changed the front grill, and rounded the back of the car.
But this could be only face-lift, not a new car.

(from Citroen Press Release) GTbyCITROËN: CROSS OVER TO THE VIRTUAL WORLD…
With GTbyCITROËN, a show-car presented at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, Citroën becomes the first vehicle manufacturer to cross over to the virtual worlds: An original take on a road car, GTbyCITROËN is a style replica of a vehicle from the digital world. The car is the result of a partnership between Citroën and Polyphony, designer of the driving simulation game Gran Turismo 5 on Playstation 3. Already shipped in more than 50 million units worldwide, Gran Turismo is renowned for its quality, design and realism.
“GTbyCITROËN shows how the worlds of virtual and real-life motoring can join together to create a truly innovative partnership. We were delighted that Citroen approached us and gave us the opportunity to combine our creative strengths to build this very special concept car. To see the car take shape in game and then for real has been a truly unique experience as our work normally stays in the digital world. I just hope I can get behind the wheel of GTbyCITROËN and drive it on a real race track!â€
Kazanori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital Inc and creator of Gran Turismo

I was simply stating that a concept car does not nessesarily equal a production car.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Which in this case is a Production car.....for a video game....

oh right my mistake, didn't realise the random exclamation mark was supposed to be part of a "does not equal" sign.
