Gamespot posted a new interview with EA's Steve Barcia about the role of police in the latest Need for Speed game.
The emphasis is once again on the story, especially how the player will have to deal with the cops.

The thing that really made me laugh and cinched the deal for me is something that happens at the very end of the video. The cops take out some donuts and start eating.
If you don't happen to know, it's a stereotype over here in the US for cops to be fat and eating donuts.

I agree.. The donut thing was a great addition. The donut shops in MW and Carbon just aren't enough.

At least the cinematics tnad the quality of acting and directing seems to have improved greatly. Let's hope the same can be said about the gameplay.

Don't know if it's mentioned before but Did anyone notice the 911 Turbo police cars.
I know there where Nissan GTR police cars and Camaro concept (I think they are) police cars etc.

Yup; knew about them from the first (or was it the second) edition of the Gazette. Pretty excited that the police will actually feature vehicles that'll be able to realistically compete with some of the cars we'll be driving.

Well I couldn't be bothered to read all the sites EA made for this game....

Re: Gamespot Undercover Interview And New Trailer
hey so I'm really confused about something
is the main character a cop? or not? coz the name of the game would suggest that he is.... but all the videos like this one show people being chased by cops.
I don't mind cop evasion even tho I suck at it
but I really don't wanna get my cars impounded ; )
so I was thinkin if you play as an undercover cop, maybe they chase you so as not to "blow your cover" but you don't get penalized?
maybe? hopefully? lol

Only the character's supervisor knows that the main character is an undercover cop. To the other members of the police force, the character is a street racer and possible gang member.
Don't know how this'll work with the impound lot, but it's pretty certain that the supervisor will not risk the character's cover being blown by releasing him or his car.
