Re: What car do you drive ?
I hate driving Toyotas. I had to drive my grandmother's Avalon and there's like no steering feel at all. Not to mention she continuously brags about it having a V6 but the simple fact of the matter is even with the little power my RB30 has the R31 is quicker.

Re: What car do you drive ?
yah i know the steering was just lose the engine sounded like shiznit. the onlythin it did was reverse fast but forward or backwords it was all over the place. the cot pit was so wrong i just dont go no where until i have to go pic up my 328

Interesting. I quite like Avalons, even to the point where I would buy one if I needed a big sedan. It's a poor man's Lexus; very smooth to drive, comfortable and cheap to maintain. And the V6 still has legs, imo.
Try driving an old Honda if you want know what "no steering feel" is really about

Re: What car do you drive ?
Whatever you say buddy. From my point of view, cheap cars like Civics/Camrys/etc tend to have very simple and bland interiors, especially compared to something like a BMW which has buttons and things everywhere.
Re: What car do you drive ?
i dont like how the dash sit so far away its just imo. im not saying everyone must listen to me. its just a few thought i have. and im not hatting on cheap cars if thats what you think. i love my friends accord i liked the older civics i think the new ones just looks a bit wierd to me thats all.

Re: What car do you drive ?
I don't have a car yet because well, I can't afford one but I do drive one of my parent's cars either the:
1. 2003 Honda Accord Sedan LX-G ooorr the new
2. 2009 Honda Civic Coupe LX....which just came in today...
I'm hoping to get pics up soon-ish...

Re: What car do you drive ?
I agree on all of those points, but I still wouldn't buy one. And I realise that Hondas would be worse in steering feedback but quite frankly I hate the Avalon's steering. Same with the Corolla Ascent I have to drive to get my P'sboganbusman wrote:Interesting. I quite like Avalons, even to the point where I would buy one if I needed a big sedan. I think he means "they were so loose, with no [steering] feedback".
As far as Avalons having "no steering", what do you expect? Big, heavy sedan + small, but heavy, front-mounted V6 + FWD = you're going to have a little bit of trouble steering.

Re: What car do you drive ?
No it's handling is ok (although my grandmother has dinged it on over 5 separate occasions, but that was usually due to here very aggressive driving style in the parking lot XD), it's just that you get no feedback in the steering. it's almost as if you're simply holding your hands up in the air rather than on a steering wheel.

Re: What car do you drive ?
Well that is the ideal in a car that's designed for comfort (which is most cars). The weight of the steering has a higher prority. If you want feedback then buy an AW11.

Re: What car do you drive ?
That's the whole point, if the steering has little feedback and weight then that adds to the "comfort" -_- It does have a bit of weight though. In some cars you can spin the wheel by breathing on it, the Avalon won't do that.
Re: What car do you drive ?
yes but it still feels like ur not controlling it sometimes...well most fo the times.

Re: What car do you drive ?
You really don't get it do you, that's the whole point. they can make it feel like what ever they want.
Most people don't give a rats *ss about steering feel and if you feel connected to the car or the road.
They want comfort and ease of steering.
A lot of city cars even have a city mode for steering which makes it even lighter and with less feedback but like Bogan said you could turn the wheel by breathing at it, and people in cities with small streets and small parking places want that, they don't care if they don't feel the wheels, they only care about that they can corner and park with minimal effort.
If you want feedback get a car without powersteering!
