What car do you drive ?
Re: What car do you drive ?
Mmmm, Cherry Coke.
Oh, cool ride jacoja! I used to want one of those back in the day. Especially the ones with the TRD kit.

Re: What car do you drive ?
Thanks! Yeah, Cherry coke is pretty epic. Though after drinking it again for the first time in years, it reminded me that I’d still prefer the Vanilla or Original variant.
Thanks, Stig . Yep, we only got the 2ZZ engine in Australia, with two Celica badges… the SX and ZR. It also has the 6-speed transmission, which feels excellent on freeways.
Btw, didn’t you plan on buying a 7th gen a couple of years ago? Pretty sure I remember you talking about it.

Re: What car do you drive ?
Correct, did have plans of buying one, still sometimes think maybe I still should get one... but the only version I want is the 2ZZ version, but it's rather rare compared to the 1ZZ FE version which makes it a fair bit more expensive...
What is the difference between the SX and ZR? luxury? (leather trim automatic airco etc?)

Re: What car do you drive ?
Yep, I’m pretty sure the only difference between the two is luxury. (By memory) In the ZR you also get a sunroof, standard side-impact airbags, 6-CD player, 16†rims, and optional HID headlights on later models.
Hope you’ll bump into a reasonably priced 2ZZ version some day then .

Re: What car do you drive ?
I have a couple of cars actually. Got an old Peugeot 405 Mi16 as a runabout (not in the greatest condition) and a Mazda RX-7 '87 which was resprayed Blue (badly) by a previous owner. Currently neither are mobile though The 405 needs a new Starter solenoid and Battery plus and alternator that works and the RX-7 is stripped ready to be resprayed properly, besides the fact it needs alterations made by a stupid kangaroo and a stupid Ford repaired too. But hey it was a great looker before that

Re: What car do you drive ?
Isn't the 405 Mi16 just a rubbish handling, bigger version of the 205GTi? Nice to see some of them still alive, though. Save the RX-7 quickly, before it's worth more as scrap than as a car- the old-school Mazdas are so much cooler than new-school ones.

Though the reason I got it was for the Mi16 not the 405 shell. Next step is to get a 205 shell (anything after '88) and prep it for the conversion
The motor is pretty good in this one done a few too many k's but that means when it's out of the 405 (which will get the 205's engine and be a boring runabout) it'll get the full works done to it including the race liners and pistons which give it a bit more bore diameter.
Yeah it's getting saved at the moment. Just gotta organise things like the wide arch mods and replacement rear suspension. It'll run on its standard coilovers for the moment but as soon as I can get it, I'll be plugging it full of double wishbonessteelsnake00 wrote:Save the RX-7 quickly, before it's worth more as scrap than as a car- the old-school Mazdas are so much cooler than new-school ones.
Also gotta get a new rear wing for it as the old one was destroyed by a cab driver when pushing it off the road (ran out of petrol when the fuel gauge wasn't connected!).

Re: What car do you drive ?
A nice little new touch. Got a set of 16" ZR rims last week for $300. Budget modding FTW .
Now to get rid of those stickers...

Re: What car do you drive ?
If you race his car in a running race, it will be faster. But if he focuses on the car, then he doesn’t want to display the cars information to anyone.

I think he meant "I'll beat you in a race but I don't want to show the car's specs."

Re: What car do you drive ?
I'm agreeing. Equally, I could say I can fly like an eagle, but if I don't prove it no-ones going to believe me.
You do get the odd turbo'd or 'charged MX-5, but they're very rare, and not THAT powerful. A mate of mine has an eaton 'charged 1.8 and it's about as fast around a track as my mildly modded A4 diesel. It cost about as much to build as my S2 at it's initial stage of conception, and was far slower.
Go on, show us the front and we can see for ourselves whether you have a FMIC. Without one, your only going to be running standard-ish power, unless you've gone the ITB route, and that's only really usable in proper track cars. Plus, if it was a properly quick car, you'd have ditched the fabric roof and fitted a hard-top

Re: What car do you drive ?
I have no idea when my MR2 will be back on the road, so I bought another car to get me around. Sick of borrowing other people's crap cars.
Behold, the fantastically average and boring AE92:
It's in excellent condition (and worth more than I paid) but it's automatic, carburetted, and there is no power steering. Boo.

At least you'll get a workout making turns at intersections.

Re: What car do you drive ?
That is, without a shadow of doubt, the least interesting looking car ever produced!
Get the MR2 finished before people SEE you driving that thing!

Re: What car do you drive ?
lol, I've been seen driving worse cars than that. At least it doesn't attract attention, and it won't break down like the last car I borrowed.
Who knows, I might end up keeping this. The MR2 is getting a bit extreme and un-roadworthy
