Am I the only guy here who thinks that the start lights are pretty gay? I mean those 3 red lights and then the green one...

Car of the Week Select: Nissan GT-R SpecV
This week's Select car is the SpecV version of the fantastic Nissan GT-R. The SpecV is based on last year's Japanese entry to the Supercar standard but with a few modifications, mainly to the bodywork to reduce the weight while increasing the power delivered to the mid-range gears. All great info if you're able to afford the car (and live in Japan) but for those of you just looking to race the car in SHIFT then the key thing you need to know is that it's huge fun to play in the game. I've spent more than one lunchtime sat in front of the screen taking the SpecV out for a spin on the track. It's probably one of the most drivable cars in the game; if you fancy yourself as a bit of a gymkhana-wannabe then this is one of the best cars to play with... forwards, backwards, sideways... it's a huge amount of fun to drive. I could write more but I've talked myself into loading up the game again for a quick session.

Gamescom 2009 - live from the floor
We've got a huge community event starting tomorrow so stay tuned for all the latest info about Need for Speed SHIFT but before this starts we wanted to show off some of the latest photos of the event particularly the fantastic setup the German guys have done for SHIFT. D-Box seats with triple-head screens really show off the visual and physical prowess of the game. Each of the seats is built with a webcam to show the face of the drivers as they race against seven other games in the head-to-head online races.
It would be great to get a video feed from the webcams to see everyone's faces as they try out the "True Driver's Experience"
Jesse and Stephen in front of the world's game media yesterday during the EA Press Conference.
Always good to see a man enjoying playing his own game.
Need for Speed SHIFT is out September 15th in Europe and 17th in North America.
