Manufacturer Monday, the day the official site gets updated with new additions on the SHIFT2 Unleashed car list, was yesterday and the following manufacturers and cars were confirmed to appear in game:

Even though I LOVE! ♥JDM♥, you should really consider that Shift is supposed to be a racing simulator...
On the tracks...
With racecars...
I really hope that there will be some new vinyls, and that editing vinyls and decals will be more like in ProStreet, because in Shift 1 it was really lame...

Im pretty sure there will be some JDM cars like the R34, probably a Lancer, Honda S2000 and i guess thats it.
TBH i dont understand why did they add a Civic Si to Shift(1).
We would be better off with some Honda Civic Type R whateveritsname version, not this.
Like the Civic that was in Pro Street. Or even the one from NFS Underground.

I'd love to see a 911 Carrera RS 2.7 though, and the Eclipse GSX, Shift 2 could use some other Mitsubishis than Lancer, and some classic Porsches. But i guess we will only see that when someone decides to mod some cars.

Looking at that site with "locked" manufacturers shown, im wondering if it will be a big carlist or more of a "1 car per manufacturer" deal.

They added the Civic Si instead of the older ones probably because Honda paid for it. They're not interested in selling old Civics that were only available in Japan. Just thank them for putting the NSX in it. I'd also love to have the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX (or a GST with a transmission swap or something), the 3000GT VR-4, Nissan 300ZX, Datsun 240Z (with RB26DETT swap)... I actually go back and play ProStreet just because it has the Eclipse GSX.

I like the additions, but I would hope EA would stop creating their own bodykits. I mean, the GT1 and GT3 cars look good because those are true racing cars, but others (like the Reventon or the BMWs) are just plainly awful. I hope you can race with them totally stock like in SHIFT 1, I love to take stock cars around Nordschleife for some laps. If the game is indeed going to be a true simulator, I might very well keep this game installed for years just for the pleasure of driving a bunch of stock cars in the Green Hell.

Everytime EA reveals a new car you just post this: "new". What exactly do you mean? There are no new cars in SHIFT 2? Hmm let me see...

These and a few others are certainly new to the NFS games (PC version especially). Not all of them new (they appear in other games) but it is a good start for a car list that still has only 36 cars and it is meant to have 145. I wonder how many more times you are going to say "new".

I see your intention there. For NFS, some are new. But for modders, it's not new at all. Buuut, there are still 109 cars to go. Maybe SMS will bring us some surprise this time?

No my intention was to point out that EA considers a car to be ''new'' although it was in a previous game (or several).

Variant A, variant B:

EA considers a car to be ''new'' just because it has slight, barely noticeable differences than in previous games.

But if it ain't broke don't fix it I guess... there are many cars here that got worse and worse with time..
