That PS3 glitch made me lol.

Anyway don't know about you but considering that I've tried the beta for me it was NFS World deja vu all over again.

So they released another broken game?
Great...

I liked the first TDU, but got fed up with its bugs and quit playing when my savegame got screwed up.

But I guess in a way it's good to know this game isn't that great, because I was thinking of buying it, but I have so many other games to play at the moment, so I didn't right away.
And after the pretty crappy verdicts I've seen, I probably won't get this game, except for maybe when I find it in the sale bin.

The game is unfortunately very buggy, mainly because the servers are often down, but that was mainly because some pre release gamers already found exploits and Eden closed down certain parts/servers of the game, thus making it work less or not at all.

The voice overs are annoying and repetitive, they should have sticked with 1 time and then not again, but in certain stores they keep on saying the same things over and over again like the hairdresser keeps on saying 2 lines every say 30 second or so, gets annoying pretty fast.

Charactermodels are not superb but then it's a raceg ame not shooter or something, other racing games often only have a darked out racing river in a suit and helmet, so... didn't bother me at all.

Car handling is very arcade like, but with settings on hardcore can be pretty hard, and unpredictable, with everything on it's pretty easy but a sudden overstreer can appear without any warning.
I have to change my usual drivingstyle in racing games had to change I was to carefull with the brakes, never slamming on the brakes, but in TDU2 you can brake as hard as you want without the brakes locking up, once I noticed that and changed my style I was able to set much faster times then before.
IMO even if it's sometimes unpredictable I like the drivingphysics better in TDU2 then NFS HP, HP was to much arcade for me to handle.

Funny thing is in the review they complete ignored that you got 2 Island to play on (Ibiza and O'ahu (Hawaii) so it's a pretty big game with loads of roads, sure Hawaii was already in TDU, and it hasn't changed much since TDU, except that it feels more like a tropical island then before, the colours are more bright then in TDU.

BTW why do we need 3 topics about this game?

Yes we do *troll faec*

By the way to you racing game expert / adrenaline junkie / car enthusiast / whatever the driving might seem easy but to the rest of the world it's really damn hard and really damn frustrating even on sport mode. Full assistance is easy as long as you're not an idiot who keeps holding W till the race ends but what I really hate about the driving are 2 things:

-Cars drift in straight line rather than around the corner, unless it's a very very tight one, there it's scripted.
-Cars smash the road when landing a jump, they don't lose speed but it's still annoying.

Anyway it's got a load of issues other than bugs... sometimes I think that half the time this game was in development all they have been doing is making the Ferrari's.

The game does have way to many issues with glitches and bugs, like corrupted savegames, server errors etc,
They should not have released the game the way it is, that's a fact.

Could have been a very good game if they tested it on full scale and fixed the problems it has, before release.

If you play on PC with a keyboard then yes, you are having it hard. on the 360 it's not so hard with a controler or wheel.

That goes for pretty much every game with driving, even GTA. That's not an excuse tho, they should have made the game work on every platform.

Last hope for a decent racing game is Black Box's NFS, seeing as EA isn't rushing them to release it in 1 year time anymore it will hopefully be worth at least looking at.

Where did I say it doesn't work on a PC or any other platform?

I said if you use a keyboard, yeah then you're.... well you know the word.
And that's with more games the case, a lot of racing games you can't handle a car with the keyboard, you need a wheel.
I don't think that they should make a driving/racing game, multiplatform or not, to work with a keyboard per se.
if they game tries to be even a bit realistic, it should not work with a keyboard, a simple on/off system just isn't realistic in any way.

Sorry but the standard for PC gaming is keyboard, not the joypad or the doughnut thing. They should have made the game work with standard equipment, period. Doesn't matter if it's a racing game, FPS, TPS, side scrooler, strategy etc etc ET god damn C!!

Yes it does matter, you can't have sensitive controls with a bloody keyboard.
You played to much NFS mate, the level of arcade play makes nfs the ideal keyboard play because you don't have to be sensetive with the controls, you just floor it and brake sometimes (hardly ever really needed)
Same goes for flightsims, you can't play them with a keyboard, you need other controller for it.

So you can whine about it as long as you want I am glad they didn't make it to compatible for the keyboard because they would have changed the phyiscs to even more arcade, and all that just to satisfy a few keyboard players (yes you are greatly outnumbered in compared to the console players and wheel player)

even with all the bugs, i still am addicted to this game. I dont even deal with any of the bugs ive heard of. The only think that is bugging me a litle is how clubs and races arent working, but there was already a notice that it is being worked on.. I also hate how i keep losing my money at the casino...

Nah you did it cause you're a console fanboy.

Yes, keyboard sensitivity is s*it, but they could make it decent like EA did with NFSHP, in TDU2 they are beyond acceptable...

Oh and I wouldn't be here if I weren't addicted to NFS now would I :P? I suck at most racing games (except Level R) I'll admit, but I know bad controls when I see em.

@Zotic

I hear you, actually finished the game this morning... still didn't get that CCXR though

I'm not a console fanboy, I was playing on a PC when you where still liquid.

I still play games on the PC, just not racinggames because they SUCK on a PC, period!

That HP works on a PC isn't saying much, because it has the most arcade handling there is, man even Mario kart has better handling then HP.

Sure Eden could have made it more accessible to keyboard users and make it like the older NFS games, but they didn't, same as they did with TDU, it was almost impossible with a keyboard also.
I can name several racing games that don't work well with a keyboard.

That's not what I see...

Racing games suck on PC (some, not all, not really) cause the developers make them so.

And what exactly is your problem with arcade racers? In case you didn't know NFS started as arcade (The Need For Speed, 1994, 3DO) and kept on that track until someone from EA said ''Hey! Let's f*ck the series up even more and make a simulator!'' (not talking about Pro Street, that one had the potential of being the only non-boring sim). [-X NFSHP sucks for other reasons but when it comes to handling it's perfect (at high speed, slow down and you'll be doing U-turns like karts) and the controls... could be better but still a lot better than TDU2.

Mate have you ever played TNFS? it was in essence a SIM, sure the handling was what we call now more arcade like, but that was the technology from that time, they didn't have hundreds of physics calculations a second like modern games do.

Don't give me a lecture about NFS games, been playing the games for a long time now, I will bet money on it that I have more NFS games then you do, including the 3D0 version of TNFS as well as a PC version and a SEGA Saturn version.
Sadly I just couldn't be bothered buying Shift and NFS HP, Shift didn't feel right, tried to be a sim, but with horrible camera work (annoying shaking when crashing et....)

I have nothing against a arcade racer, I loved the earlier NFS games, and also loved Underground and Most Wanted, both where pure arcade games, but and yes could be played well with a keyboard.

Please don't tell me that NFS HP has good physics because that shows that either you have never driven a car or what a car can and can't do in real life.
Because using the handbrake at 150 mph just to get drift around a corner, and doing so will get you a faster time then using a raceline (with pre corner braking) is not good physics, not even for a arcade racer, and in case you didn't notice a car is not the same as a KART so if the game handles like a kart.... the physics SUCK!

But if I where you, I would just throw your copy of TDU2 in the bin (you probably ripped it anyway so no harm done)
and get ridge racer or something, just be right up your street, over the top driving style.. what more do you want.

Don't give me that collector crap, I buy games to play 'em not to keep them sealed till I die...
(but just for the record, I own TNFS twice for PC, once for PS1 and once for 3DO, NFS2 for PC, NFS3, 4 and 5 for PC and PS1 [each], NFS6 twice for PC and once for PS2, NFSU, U2, MW, Carbon, Pro Street and Shift for PC. NFSHP gave it away and Undercover I knew it would suck since EA 1st announced it).

I don't care how games were 15 years ago, RIGHT NOW, Hot Pursuit's physics are alright, ARCADE means they DO NOT have to be REALISTIC. And yes I have to type in CAPS L [-X CK. As for the camera... well yeah it does suck, combine that with awful controls and the worst rubber band in history and you get a NFS game that is only slightly better than Undercover.

Bottom line if you want realism play that Gran Turismo crap, NFS is suppose to be arcade, always was like that, even if TNFS and Porsche had a tendency for realism.

Personally I'd like a NFS game... hell... a racing game that mixes arcade and realism perfectly. And no that doesn't mean 90% realism and 10% arcade -.-

And yes I don't own TUD2, might have bought it if I hadn't seen the beta. Thx Atari I <3 you.

AS always you are bending the words, I never said anything about a game needing to be 90% sim or anything you are creating stuff that nobody here ever said.

Sure you don't care on what basis a game was made 15 years ago, but it still remains that TNFS was build to be a racing simulator, that is why it was presented by Road and Track, in it's day it tried to be realistic.
In 10 years we might say tha GT5 physics are not realistic anymore because the technology changes, but everyone agrees now that it's a sim, so NFS started out as a sim, not a arcade racer.
Sure it evolved into a arcade racer, and I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, but compared to other NFS games the new HP is nothing more than Burnout with licensed cars, and with matching over the top racing.
Sure like it as much as you want the way it drives, I don't.
Same way as you don't like the way TDU2 handles.

Just leave it at that.

Now get back on topic asap.

Don't see what more I could add about TDU2... it sucks, but...

You just have to be right even if the proof is right in front of you.

Quote from the TNFS box:

ROAD & TRACK, the premier Automotive enthusiast magazine and Electronic Arts bring you realistic, white knuckled racing in eight of the most exciting supercars.
The Physics model, fine tuned with input from ROAD and TRACK editors, accurately simulates each cars handling, acceleration, bodyroll and lateral G capability and performs like it's real life counterpart.
Twist the key and prepare for the gut wrenching sensation of raw speed.

I don't know what that tells you but that sounds to me like the tried to make a realistic racing game, but then you will most likely disagree because that's what you constantly do.

and I said to get back on topic but you clearly don't understand the word on topic, only thing you care about is getting into a discussion and annoy people.
Guess what, you succeeded because I had it up to here with your behaviour, it's not only this topic but your attitude in general, kicking against anything you don't like, but now you kicked against the wrong person, I kick back, and occasionally kick people of this site, I'm not a person that likes banning people, so you got 2 options
1 continue the way you do now, and get get a message in the future when logging in that tells you your account is deactivated.
or,
2. change your attitude, take some advise from people that been here way longer then you and maybe you'll learn something and maybe people want learn from you also and we can all get along.

Your choice, I do hope you choose the latter.
