in last month I told you my dad was going to buy me a PC and bla bla... finally he bought 2: one for himself and one for mine.

well, I am so angry with my father, he promised to buy me a 256mb FX5700, but instead of that he bought me a 128mb FX5200. He says both of those gfx cards are similar (but now he has installed the 256mb fx5700)

Ok, I run Underground1 and it goes well, but it is impossible to play with motion blur. I disable it and tail lights too because I dont like these options but it is still too bad.. On the other hand, my father is too happy with the framerate when plays custom XP games (card games like Spyder)

easy to overclock

i cant really think of much else bt yea i am jealous of the card DOR... My Dad came back from Korea and he bought a new video card (dont remember what kind) but it was cheaper than here in the US for his laptop(which im using now) but it still sux...
9800 Pro

If it's for the laptop though, you probably need a new laptop.

You could wait a month when the cheap GF6600 series comes out. It'll probably have better performances than the 9800pro at a lower price.

Softmodding is when you flash a card's BIOS to one of a different card, basically making it think that it's a different card. Only a few, older 9500s can actually support this.

And for your Nvidia question, the Ti4600 is only up to spec with DirectX 8 and can't support motion blur. A 5700 would be a much better buy.
Not exactly.
The 9800SE 256Bit is a such card.
I have the softmod article on my forum but it does NOT involve BIOS flashing.
So tell me if you want to see it, and I will post the link.
All you need to do is install different drivers.
And you get a 9800 Pro out of it.

When I see those 5700 shots. I got a strange feeling that my Ti 4600 has better quality, can be because mine is softmodded to Quadro 4 900 XGL.
The high end market the 9800 and the X800 are just the best, quality wise, though Nvidia may be faster, the new pipelines only offers speedboost, no quality change sadly.

I had plans to have a closer look on em but that will be later sometime in the future.

The 6800s support Pixel Shader 3.0, which ATI doesn't, and has better OpenGL support. If anything, the x800 is built for that featureless speedboost.

i have the nvidia 5900xt oc and it runs the games fine, but sometimes, at its max performance, the game gets choppy and micro stops happen... can anyone help me with this, and what about the monitor refresh rate? does that have anything to do with anything? and are choppiness inevitable with some shooting games, like HALO? my comp specs are:
pentium 4 2.4 ghz
512 ram
win xp
nvidia 5900xt overclocked

damn i ask to many questions.. thanks

Hmmmm that depends, temparature can cause cards to slow down on its clocks and clocking it too far can make it lose performance as well.
Try taking it back a bit in clocks and see if it works, if you still have a problem, check your system temps.
I reckon your 2.4 Charlie generates around 45C and a little above.

Uhm, that's one of the most powerful cards NVidia has and you ask if it's good for your money?

K everyone, i need ur advise, I currently have a geforce 4 mx440 agp card but i have hit thelimit, i can't take it anymore, i want full direct x9 compatibilty, meaning i wanna see have pixle shading and have motion blur, but I'm not rich but hey i saw a card that totally supports direct x 9 and its cheap, Not the best but its what i may be able to afford

Its a geforce fx5700 le 128 mb for 70 sumthin US dollars, free shippin too, thats around 4000 and sumthin dollars in my currency, i' have been reading it up alot, and its not the best but its ok, i'll be able to get motion blur and nice graphics like u guys, its 250 core and 400 mem, i can prolly do a driver level overclock and bring it to 270/450, its better than mx and affordable, waht i paid for my mx out here i could have used and bought that card or save on to buy sumthin better but its wat i can buy now, so whats ur opinon guys?

I wanna buy the 256 bit but not enough money i need 100 bux.

EDIT: I have decided to get a ATI Radeon 9800 128 MB on Feburary 6 2005. (My birthday) Right now it costs 130 dollars but i think the price is gonna go lower soon next year. I'm planning to get underground 2 on christmas or new year's... Tell me if it's a good card or not i saw screenies of the performance in underground. And it was AWSOME! So i gotta ask you... do you think the price gonna go lower? I just wanna ask.

i have a few questions, which is better, fx5700LE, or fx5700?

is there a graphics card with 512 ram?? cause i read it somewhere on these boards..

someone also said that it is better 2 have 128mb ram than 256ram on the graphic card, cause the 128 loads faster

and also, when i play NFSU sometimes it gets choppy is there anything i can do to make it run smoother?

Only can answer your NFSU question.

Close all other programs that are running at that moment. Something like Kazaa really slows down games.

Or you just upgrade your computer..

Buy a new motherboard, upgrade the RAM, buy a new videocard, buy larger harddisks, a new power supply unit.
