The Veyron is basicly a production concept, it was only ment to show what is possible with the current technology.
And to get a world record it had to be in production.
So there is no use in making a Diesel version of the car.

It's weird cause when I typed in R8 TDI just get loads of pics on google.

Speaking of the Veyron, there's supposed to be a slightly new-ish one coming out this year:

We told you about the Bugatti Hermès Veyron two weeks ago. At the time, it appeared the uber-special Veyron would just have an ultra high-end interior package. Now, with the first pre-Geneva peek of a Bugatti Hermès Veyron, we are learning the exterior may get some special touches, as well. Although the car in the picture is almost entirely hidden by a blue fabric car cover, two new vertical slats appear flanking each side of the grill, which obviously imply other elements of the Veyron's visage will also change. Are these the only exterior "upgrades" to the million-dollar-plus Bugatti Hermès Veyron? We'll let you know when we see it in Geneva next week. Well, Bugatti is owned by Volkswagen, and they lose a couple of million with each Veyron they make.

It's not a ''We at Bugatti have plans for a 1000bhp car, and we'd like you to sponsor us to further help us design, develop and produce it.'' Bugatti was known in the past for their unique supercars, but they were pretty much wiped out by the time Volkswagen purchased the rights for the Bugatti marque. I'm not sure why they did, but it certainly makes more sense to sell a supercar under the Bugatti brand instead of the Volkswagen brand. The Veyron is completely Volkswagen designed.

yes, the new Bugatti is set to be in motor shows around the world some time soon.

Apparentely it will be a lot cheaper, have about the same power-weight ratio, and still be VERY VERY FAST!
