You couldn't be farther from the truthPSZeTa wrote:I'm afraid you can't get Bojans videocard with 150...VPNeverLoser wrote:I have about $150 and I want to get the best video card out of that money. Any comments of which one i should get?
btw which video card is Bojan using?
My guess it's a 9800 Pro.
My video card is a more-than-2-years old geforce 4 4200Ti.
You can buy a way better card for less than $150.
And yes, I will be upgrading soon because it's performance in today's games is terrible. I mean come on, who wants to play a game on low detail and 800x060 resolution
Anybody wants to buy it?

Hey!! I have a ti4200 (128mb) and it works perfectly. Juiced, for instance works awesome at the highest details, NFSU works perfectly, Battlefield works pretty good (could be better). I love it, the reflections are awesome as well.
@VP: See, you thought his card was sooo good, but it turned out to be the same as what I have. I would suggest buying an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro card 400/600. You can get it for around 130 bucks, and it would be all you would need.

Haha, my last overclocking attempt fried the cpu. That's why I was offline for a week a month ago. And what's more, the money I spent on the cpu was meant to go for a new gfx. So if a fry my gfx now, I'll be offline for longer as I don't have the $300 needed for a new one.
So I'll just not get any new games untill november hehe.

A strong power supply unit would be handy.VPNeverLoser wrote:buying a good video card for a POS computer isnt so good is it? I mean a stock computer and then you install a good video card? There needs to be more...am i right?
And it's probably no use if you have a slow computer + greatest videocard ever.
Even if it looks good, you want to make it run smooth.

SVGA 256MB ATI RADEON X800 PRO --> 506,22€
yeah it is a bit expensive but.. I have found that! ! ! ! !
SVGA 256MB ATI RADEON X600 PRO PCX --> 172,68€ ! ! ! !
yeah it is not as good as the x800, but it is also a new gfx card generation (PCI instead of AGP). I think I will get a x600!!

Check the tests here:

You have the 6600 and X600 on this page. Search the site for 9800.
A quick look says the 6600GT is twice as fast as the 9800.

They're selling the 6600GT here for 250 euro. Prices will fall of course and new stuff is pretty expensive here. The 9800 costs about the same.
What's more is that the 6xxx series supports new technologies which should in future provide better quality. ATI x series does not - the x series is just a really beefed up 9xxx core.
