the US celica GT has rear Drumbrakes (stupid but :? ) but the GT-S has full diskbrakes.

(the European version always has full disk :P)

btw the GT has 140 BHP and the GT-S 180!
not 190.

only the Japanese and European versions have 190 (192 to be exact)

and yeah you can increase it but it rather expensive to do so.
for instance with the Blitz intercooler/supercharger set
but then again the 180 BHP isn't really much but the car isn't heavy so it can do rather quick 0-60 times for a 1.8

180 is pretty much is you know that the average car has like 90 if your lucky...

(it's about the performance not the HP numbers.... think about it  )

I know what it feels... I am saving for a Celica of my own... (new type) and am just as HP greedy as you... but I know I will settle for the 192 (sorry mate I live in europe) for a while and save for the Blitz kit.... wich will take me a while to get the money....
but I know in the mean while I can have lots of fun with the stock car :D

I'm driving a 90 BHP diesel now so

Screw the Celica, ride the 206.

Just wanted to say something.. Don't go horsepower pumping already with your just bought car. You can drive a car and you can wreck a car.

You can challenge the poor gasoline cars for torque and low end power (Down in the lower RPM) and of course, fuel efficiency, petrol just gives 20% while your diesel does push down 50% efficiency of the fuel ;)

yep the 206 has pretty high torque for a small car and even with the 9- BHP I can outrun alot of ricers :P with their civics and golfs

but you need to know when to shift with a diesel to accelerate as fast as possible (low in the revs and quick up in the gears)

well Racinghart CR like in my sig... but then not 10" wide.... doesn't fit unless you have a widebodykit....like the APR wich is HUGELY expensive
so probably 7.5 wide or what ever does fit :P

but I doubt I got much money left after I buy the car, knowing it costs 20.000 euro. wich is 24000 USD secondhand....

yeah the complete car is hugely expensive

but I'm planning on a APR spoiler (GTC-300) and the rims...rest will be a rather simple/clean kit, wich comes first I don't know... cause it all is a damn lot of money... only the rims are almost 1500 without tires... :?
and I want a Blitz supercharger kit in it and Blitz Nur Spec exhaust... but don't expect it to be there soon...

first probably is the rims and later on the body and spoiler.. last the blitz kit

the car only costs me a fortune... :?

For the future readers of this topic: Im 17 and in Australia meaning i have had my license for 1.5 years now and only driven my myself for 6 months due to license restrictions. 3 weeks ago we had our graduation formal and after me and my mate climbed into his 180sx (Turbo SR20) to go and do a bit of show off drifting outside the restaraunt. My mate's 18 and hes been driving since 11y.o. as a result of our show off drifting every time the car went sideways he spun 6 times total that is coz he couldn't handle the car. As a result ive decided to buy a ford laser tx3 non turbo fwd pushing 100kw and then after 2 years or so move up to a 180sx.

For future reference, your friend is an idiot for drifting on a public road outside a restaurant which was likely very busy due to your graduation celebrations. He should have his license torn up in front of his eyes, then be made to dance on its burnt ashes.

Dont give up on the 180, take one to a track and drive it properly, you might be surprised at how well they actually handle. Although you might be better with a UK spec 200sx (CA18DET - 1809cc turbo) or with the KA24DE engine (non turbo). Just a thought :)
