Tempting tho, I'd like the Viper... I started playing again earlier this week, and I'm really bad now... Couldn't control the McLaren SLR in H mode at all... Just spun out all the time... Really gotta play more. :P
It had been so long since I'd played, I couldn't even steer the Saturn Sky any more...

RedCarDriver wrote:No, sound mods aren't against the rules (as far as I know). I'd estimate that about 1/2 of everyone I've met online in TDU that is above Pro level has at least one sound mod. Lots of people have been making them - ever see TDUAddons.com?

And, if you don't want to "risk it", make a 2nd, offline profile and remove the mod when playing on your main one. However, sound mods don't affect the game in any way except your car sounding different (to you only anyways), so it's not really cheating as far as I know.

EDIT: actually, TDUAddons is down right now, but still. Relisss has uploaded lots of stuff there.
Never heard about TDUAddons, looks pretty good. Thanks for the tip. :D

I got an offline profile, but I never really use it. Only made it because I had connection issues when I first got the game, and haven't really played on it since I got online. But it'll probably not be a problem, I'm just being paranoid. :P

Yes, I downloaded that patch and I managed to get offline to work fairly well (with the exception of random crashes to desktop) for a couple of weeks until the game kept giving me error messages when I tried to get to the main screen again (same problem I had before patch).

You could try deleting the savegame. It might be hard but maybe the setup or the savegame itself is corrupted. Back it up anyways..

Good luck bro.

DON'T DELETE YOUR SAVEGAME! Delete Radial.cdb as shown in my previous post - my game crashes to the desktop while loading, after the intro videos, all the time. That is how you fix it. If necessary, you may have to run the game twice after deleting this. It should run eventually. Delete it as many times as necessary, it's a temporary cache file.

If this works you'll have solved a year long problem! I will let you know how it goes.

@ xturbo: Yeah, I was thinking the savegame might be a problem. I'm still trying to put that off (I would just reinstall the entire game if I chose your route).

Also, I think buddycache.something (don't remember the extension) may be safe to delete... I think it's a cache as well.

Where is this file located? I can't seem to find "Radial.cdb" after searching my main drives and the CD drive.

Hey, just out of curiosity... does anyone know where the Tuning Shop is for the Nissan Skyline? I thought it was to the far-east, but I can't seem to find it. :P

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Test Drive Unlimited

on Windows XP. May be different for other versions of Windows.

Also, nice screenshots :D
