Will you be a street racer when you grow up?
Re: Will you be a street racer when you grow up?
From what I heard, some racetracks around here may charge up to $100 an afternoon. Beats DisneyLand ehh? o_O

Will I be a street racer? Am I a street racer? No. Is fun in NFS, but in real life, it's just dangerous and completely stupid IMO. I drive safely and responsibly. Will only race on a track. I will tune my car a lot, yes, but if I ever race at all, it will be only on a track. Much safer.

Well that's a pretty dumb question, of course I won't.
Not saying I won't tune my vehicle though.

Dude, come on son, this is cheap... one topic revive is one thing, but two in one day starts to say something.
Since I'm here, might as well revise my answer I guess.
I'm not going to go looking for trouble, but if your ricer a** get's a little big for you, or your Honda's pants, I'll be glad to take you on a ride through the mud.

He's had a fair bit of work done to it since I wrote that wiki. I should jump on IRC sometime and tell him to post in 'Your Rides."xHaZxMaTx wrote:Wiki FTW

Re: Will you be a street racer when you grow up?
Thanks..
I was really contemplating hard on whether to go Perth (where GT's located) to complete my university years, with one of the reasons being to meet GT in person. Heh! Unfortunately due to bad economy I decided not to.
I really want to have a ride in a Skyline. A narcissistic friend of mine's dad drives the R35. But that's the problem: he's a narcissist.

Hmm it's a bit tough to moderate a thread hijacking when it's about your own car..
ST34LTH is still alive and well, and as bbm says there's been quite some work done since the Wiki article. Right now I'm buiding an engine from the bottom up so I figure once that's in I'll make a post in Your Rides.
Oh, @andre, I did have a red R32 before this one which I posted a pic or two on NFSUnlimited. Before that, I had an R31!
Now, maybe let's wander back to being street racers when we grows up?

Ah, OK. at least I remembered you had an R32.
ON TOPIC:
It's very unlikely I'd be one. Singapore's way too risky to do stuff like street racing. Drifting maybe, but not street racing.

Haha. Driving straight is too risky, but trying to slide a car around corners is ok?Andre_online wrote: It's very unlikely I'd be one. Singapore's way too risky to do stuff like street racing. Drifting maybe, but not street racing.
Can't blame you, though. I know I'll be all over drifting when I get ahold of a RWD car.
Last night, while driving around, I noticed that no one wants to mess around anymore. When I first got my car a few years ago, it seemed like every kid I pulled up to would rev their engine trying to entice a street race. And usually I couldn't resist. But lately I've noticed no one is down for a good 'ol traffic light grand prix. I pulled up to some obvious ricers last night, and I'd pull away quickly to see if they'd bite, but no... Guess it's a good thing kids are wising up, but I always enjoyed a good race.

At least drifting happens in a closed circuit, and can at least be controlled, unlike drag or sprint races.Zero260 wrote:Haha. I figured you meant drifting in the street, since this is a street racing topic.Andre_online wrote: At least drifting happens in a closed circuit, and can at least be controlled, unlike drag or sprint races.

I wouldn't mind seeing it too, even though Skylines are as common as houseflies over here....have you had any mods? Probably a silly question, but anyway.Carcrazy wrote:*twitch - jaw drop*Porsche-AG wrote:Carcrazy, you are so young and naive. Much to learn, you still have.
