Lots of people have or want to have an iPod, just because it's cool.

iPod, iThis, iWhatever. Everything with an ''i'' in front of a word and made by Apple is ''cool''. Lots of companies are trying to make use of this ''i-popularity''. (iRiver anyone?)

Design is incredibly important when it comes to sales.. Most people nowadays don't know what sound/screen quality and functionality is.

I got my 2GB Nano because it's small (thus easy to take) and it has decent sound quality. I just wanted sound on the go. Funny that some people are trying to be cool by bringing the ''best'' sound quality with them. Problem is that the players are usually insanely large, and they have earbuds.. Meaning that you won't even hear that damn sound quality because there are too many environmental sounds. A kid in my class bought a Archos Gmini 500, to listen music.(According to him, its sound quality was superior to my Nano's). I told him he was an idiot. You can have all the sound quality you want, but he had shiznit earbuds which weren't even in-ear ones. He only got that Gmini for the sound quality that he doesn't even properly use, and it's not even meant for music playing only. He walks around with that Gmini in his pocket, nearly the size of a harddisk.. I bet he regrets his purchase after I pwned him by telling that he should've looked for a MP3-player with a good size/sound quality ratio.

But i'm not going to because I don't burn mp3 cd's which can only get around 100-130 songs. I use the atrac format for more songs, so I think i'll stick with it. And it's better than a normal CD player anyways...ID3 tags scrolling to show the name and album of the song and all, I would think is better than numbers.
Maybe a bit outside the topic, but I've started burning MP3s to DVDs. CDs just aren't big enough anymore.

No, what he means is that he wants a regular portable CD player that people use to play DVD's. So that you could put 4.7GB's of music on one disc, which means that you could probably buy 20 or 30 CD's, rip the music off and put them onto one disc.

Well there are portable DVD players with fold-screens that don't take up a lot more space than a CD player.

But it would still be bulky, don't forget to add the thickness of the screen and the dvd part. Then you have to take into account that the battery on it is going to add some weight, after all that, it is not a pocket device anymore.

All I wear is cargo pants and shorts, I need to for all the stuff I carry around daily to school. I have a PDA, MP3 player, cellphone, money and 1 or 2 other things. I would use my backpack, but too many thefts have been taking place in school lately. I went to school yesterday, and my gym locker was open with the lock flipped and a pair of shorts missing. Sucks for the person that took them, cause they hadn't been washed in a while. But I think the gym teachers did it cause when I left gym before that class, I locked it and turned the dial a few times on the lock and pulled on it a few times. Nobody can know my combination because I don't write it down anywhere, and only the teachers have combinations and keys.

You'd be surprised... there's people who will do anything to get into a locker. Even one of my friends can open the guy's locker next to mine with ease (Just cover your combination and you should be fine).

And? If you mean a razor as in a Moto RAZR, then that should have been a punch.

Edit: The only way I could understand a half slap that would hurt is if you had a heavy hand, balled it into a light fist and swung it at him like a slap...Thats all I can get.
