I call b.s., or there was something seriously wrong with that Mustang.Focer wrote:I see you know a lot about cars, so let me ask you opinion of Ford Probe. All of my friends who are mostly DSM fans say that it's a pease of shiznit, and I think that it's pretty good for a stock Probe GT to smoke a 4.6 stang on stick
Oh, if you're interested in the Probe, avoid one with an automatic transmission - it kills the preformance (a 5-speed I4 is as fast as an automatic V6). Meanwhile, it doesn't have the overall potential of a DSM, but it's also not as eccentric. It's also the same car as the Mazda MX-6, which broadens the possibilites, a bit (I doubt it's got any connection to the Escort, short of a few small irrelevant parts, although if there is, I'd like to see it).
BTW, why do your friends say it's a POS? Is it solely because of the performance, or are there other reasons (I'm not entirely certain how reliable the Probe is, although I didn't recall it being notoriously bad).

Actually im being serious. Dads Monaro is an old muscle car with a turbo and it sound really funny because you can hear the turbo winding away at high rpm and then the blow off valve is pretty loud too. Its a massive turbo and its really loud.donaldgladden wrote: HAHAHyour a funny guy tuner ROFL. i almost threw up laughing. your being

I think that ford probe is made on same base as maza mx-6, and who told you that it has same chassis as old escort, and did they even made escorts in america?thingfromthedepths wrote:Never in my life have i driven a ford. Only ever German cars...thats wierd =\
Apparently the probe is a heap of shiznit. Its got the same chassis as the old escort lol.

They did make Escorts in America, or at least sell them there (I know that they were made in Mexico for a long time). Hell, I just bought an Escort. It's just not the European spec Escort. But, yeah, I'm pretty certain that the Probe and Escort have little to nothing to do with each other.Focer wrote:I think that ford probe is made on same base as maza mx-6, and who told you that it has same chassis as old escort, and did they even made escorts in america?thingfromthedepths wrote:Never in my life have i driven a ford. And, yup, the MX6 uses the same chassis and engines as the Probe (with the second generation, at least, the MX6 was a little more softly sprung).
My dad drives a dark green '91 Saab 900i 16v (about 130bhp)
.
There's 375tkm on the meter. And it's rusty as hell.
Well you can't see the rust untill you get a bit closer, but there's a lot of it hidden.
But my dad is searching for a new ride all the time. Maybe i'll get that old car for myself because there's no point in selling that because you can't get any money for it and it still runs
.
I think my dad is either gonna buy an old Saab 900 Aero (185bhp or more) next if he can find one that is in mint condition or then he's gonna buy a Saab 9-3 Turbo (used).
He says he's gonna drive a Saab until his friend who fixes up his cars retires.
So probably another 10 years.

You're right, a lot of people complained about Probe's suspencion, exept the 1997 model I thinkHecubus wrote:They did make Escorts in America, or at least sell them there (I know that they were made in Mexico for a long time). P.S Someone wrote about drug dealers ride
In poland they drive usually sh*t like Ford Mondeo, VW Golf (I to III), Opel Astra, Fiat
, Daewoo
, FSO Polonez ( don't even try to search for it
) Opel Corsa A, B, C, cheap and old Peugeots
and that kind of stuff coz in poland is lots of weak rides so BMW X5 would look suspiciously
