Well, I had to check...
But don't blame yourself, they would be caught pretty soon anyway... I'm taking a raid for upvoters in the next few days, so expect some changes....

Question, are these upvoters voting everything 9/10 no matter what the car looks like, or are they only voting good cars? (in both cases votes should be cleared)
If only good cars, it might be a good idea to reming people (again) that voting low isn't against the law...It's a bit unfair to really good cars which deserve high votes when/if votes are cleared for someone who only gives high votes, but perhaps rightfully so.

Well, I decided to start tonight, and I went thru one page with votes... And the result was very disappointing. 2000 votes are now deleted, and I expect more to follow. The previous wipe obviously didn't help, so I guess we need a new strategy. I'm 99% sure that a lot of the people who vote in the showroom never visits the forum, and then don't know that we are now focusing on upvoters (or they just don't care). And I suppose some of you have friends in there... So, If you're tired of seeing votes being deleted all the time, then tell them to start changing their voting habits (on MSN, other IMs, PM...). Because this has got to end...
vellu: It's based on voting percentages. I know some people only vote cars they like, but when so many people does that, it messes up the entire system.

from around 100th straight down to 311th rank

My point exactly, it biases the rankings toward 9/10 (which was the problem before the reset aswell) making it kinda pointless. Don't have any ideas though how to raise awareness of this among the average user. Other then blinking text tags everywhere...Morty wrote:I know some people only vote cars they like, but when so many people does that, it messes up the entire system.
It's an imperfect system, we'll just have to live with it. Keep on removing down/up votes when necessary.
Idea: Downvoters are banned directly, correct? How about upvoters (the not blatant ones)? Do they get a private message warning or something? If not, maybe they should get a message of sorts directing them to change their voting policies.

Rank: 341
I don't see what's wrong with that. Remember that there are 8783 cars (not all ranked).
341th of 5000th (apx.) is very good, half of my cars are ranked >500, but who am I...
@Morty: I don't think it's a good strategy to keep deleting the votes, many users vote perfect or awesome cars, and I always fall atleast 200places in the rankings after vote removal. It's not that I care, but this can't go on like this

Very true, unless you make a lot of noise about yourself it's very hard to get votes for "the average-not-so-great" car. Lot of people just browse through the various "top rated" pages which really doesn't help to get votes for unranked cars. The featured car, and the three random ones listed on the main showroom page are a step in the right direction. Don't know what else could be done though.Dragster wrote: Damn there's a lot of unranked cars
Wasn't there an idea floating around about listing the people who have voted the most (fairly, no auto-vote-cannons but people who have sensible vote/comment histories)? Maybe would be a new way to raise interest on voting. Or not.

I think (I can't judge nor tell you mods anything because it's a fact that I have no idea how do the votes look like when you open them) that you should leave the votes as they are for 4-5 months and then ban the voters that have >50% of 10's. I know it's too dramatic, but I can't think of anything else
