The TE37s look pretty cool, but I'm not too keen on the colour. Meh, it's an opinion thing.

Nice S14, Felix.

I took some terribly bad quality photos of my Prelude last night. I was too lazy to mess with the camera settings, so I left it on "Auto"... #-o I thought I'd share them anyways, though...

Did you take those with a camera phone, or what? :|
Also, I don't think your Prelude has enough torque to pull that trailer. It's not RWD enough, either.

Haha . . . I modified my power windows so they have auto-up as well as auto-down. It was a lot easier than I expected.

Next thing is to try that sleepy-eye mod that Grez posted a while back 8)

What kind of power windows don't have both auto up and auto down as stock? :-s

Like, all of them. :|

Wait... by 'auto-up/down', do you mean that the window goes up and down fully with just 1 click of the button? That's probably where I was mistaken...

If they have a auto function it's (almost) only down.
I have no clue why, but I know that a auto up can come in handy sometimes.
The down is also usefull for parkinglots etc, but it has to go up also.

What did you do to get it to go auto up also?

I've got auto-up/down function on drives side window. And that's already from the factory.

I guess the auto-up would be too risky for some dumb*sses who might choke themselves to death on the window #-o

The Rex has auto up/downs. Haven't noticed any that don't.

I had to pull out the control unit for the power windows, which is mounted in the door away from the switches. Inside that is a simple circuit board with a couple of relays on it. I soldered on three 1N4007 diodes into the available spaces, and that's about it. The only other thing is to cut part of the switch so it will move up (there is a small tab that stops it from going up).

All JDM MR2s have the auto-up, so that's why it was so easy. I think it also works on AE86s but I'm not sure. I can post the tut if anyone is interested.

As to why . . . well why not? The mounting points for the switches broke, so I had to pull the whole door apart to fix it. While it was off I thought I might as well do it.

@ boganbusman: Wow, you must have a degree in automotive engineering or something to know how to do this stuff without any manuals/help.

I'm afraid that by the time I get my car, I'll be asking a lot of questions here

Haha . . . I wish. There is a tutorial on the MR2OC forum

I take my hat off to all those guys who can work this stuff out by themselves.

Ah I see. I'm sure there'll be plenty of forums on the car I get (most likely a Toyota Celica as of now), so I may be able to manage.

And yes, indeed, guys who do this stuff themselves really deserve some recognition.

If I am not mistaken they always have a safety system that if blocked they will go back down.

Those motors aren't terribly powerful, anyway. If you roll the window up on your arm, it's uncomfortable, but it's not painful.

haven't posted here for ages, but looked up a fun looking offtopic and whoa, i was first to reply to it some years ago! :D

Time to update the ride info then. It's a 2006 E90 BMW 320d, in silver with steptronic and black interior... :)

I guess my nickname is out of date as well! #-o

That's a pretty clean Beemer, Quattro, although yes, you should change your username because at the moment you're a traitor to Audi...

No, he's a traitor to BMW with his current nickname

Really nice car, though if you had waited until now to purchase an entry level luxury sedan, the '08 Cadillac CTS would be an excellent choice as well.

Either way, I'm still in envy :P

As sick as it may seem, the 2nd generation CTS has been praised by countless magazines and won quite a few awards (C&D 10Best 2008, Motor Trend Car of the Year). It's hard to beat the improvement and myriad of features the new CTS has, but obviously the 3 series has the "pure bred" line along with its uncompromised performance.

You have to at least admit that the CTS looks better than the 3 series sedan.

Lol... Are you being sarcastic, Porcshe-AG?

The new CTS certainly looks much better than the old CTS model(s), but I doubt it will ever look better than the 3-Series.
