first off I hate the name and no amount of Nintendo marketing bs could change my mind. i certainly don't want to ask my friends to come over and play with my wii. despite the massive success Ninty have with the DS my gut feeling just says this console is gonna under perform. By the time the console comes out the 360 core will be down to about £150(or less) so I don't think a saving of fifty quid (or however low they price it) is going to be enough to lure non-gamers.I can just see the western market givng Nintendo another kick in the balls with this console.

aah... nice to hear such optimism from fellow gamers :p
Anyhoo.. the launch dates have been announced -
It's strange to see that he Japan launch date will be later than the US launch date :S ...
There's gonna be another announcment today for the UK release dates - can't wait for that
OOOH WEEE!! I'm so excited!!
/me starts pranching around like a school girl
EDIT: 8th December for the European release
I also noticed on Play.com and Amazaon they were also releasing FarCry on the Wii O_o .. now that would be interesting. Now I can see how an FPS plays like with the Wii control - Will it be an improvement from the traditional console controller? And will it be as good as the PCs beloved Mouse/Keyboard combo? We'll soon find out!
So with the console, I'm planning on buying, FarCry, Zelda and Rayman: Raving Rabit.

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=19675The Nintendo Wii will launch in the US November 19th, priced just under US$ 250 (197 euros / GBP 133) and will come bundled with a copy of the game Wii Sports.
Japanese consumers will have to wait an extra two weeks for the launch on December 2nd, but the console will retail slightly cheaper, at 25,000 Yen (167 euros / GBP 113), without a copy of Wii Sports.

I'm going to get a Wii mostly for Brawl and Twilight Princess (which I've heard is much better on Wii). The 360's graphics suck—yes, they're amazing compared to old gen, but they're not as good as they could be. There's barely any improvement over an Xbox. PS3 looks much better, but there aren't many PS-exclusive games that interest me. I hate the word "Wii" too; Revolution does sound much better. It would even appeal to the controller, as in revolving it.
