Although it's an old topic, yesterday I came across this picture which is taken from NFS 3 and i remembered Koffy's comment.Well I think that the graphics are pretty good,so you must have played the non 3D accelerated one. It's too bad that I don't have enough space to install it again :(

Anybody still have any screenshots of The Need for Speed?
I wonder how they look now... The way I remember, the graphics in TNFS were awesome :)

Maybe I´ll install it and post some pics...

Oh. and about NFS3 you where right, it looks beter than I remembered. Although the NFS2 with 3DFX was maybe not better it was also not worse, just different.

Why don't you install a new hard drive... it's kinda cheap now these days...

Yeah, this is what I mean...
To be honest, the graphics are quite good, except for the low resolution. And car models are also detailed. And the dashes rock!

You're right about the dashes...Check these out.

I instaled the game, and wanted to post some pics, but the print screen didn't work.
Hovever I played for a while and found out that you are able to flip the cars on it's roof, what was not possible in many other games.

As I said I've lost the CD :( :( :( but I have the demo(just the viper). The thing i liked most was the car's reaction when the wheels started spinning. You can actually control the car very good and that gives you the ability to fool around powersliding and playing with the handbrake.I miss that. :(

Wow..., Nitro...
the dashboard in that pic looked so real... that I couldn't believe my eyes...
I never played nfs se before..., but from the looks of it, it kinda rocks although it's quite an old game... 8)

About the low resolution, maybe there is a way to crack/patch the game to make the res. better. Ther was such patch for DukeNukem 3D.

@Nitro: Check if it is not abandonware. Meybe the full game is for download somewhere.

AS FAR AS FINDING THE FIRST NEED FOR SPEED i WOULD LIKE IT MY SELF BUT CAN NOT FIND IT. STORES DO NOT CARRY IT ANY MORE AND EBAY IS THE BEST BET. BUT BE CAREFUL THAT YOU DONT BUY A SCRATCHED VERSION CAUSE YOU WILL HAVE JUST THROWN YOUR MONEY AWAY.
