actually i wouldnt say they keep a beat. most of arent ever "singing" fast . like snoop dogg. he takls like a 2 year old, he has to think of his next wordswhatthesht wrote:assasinator? are you? lol, just kidding!
btw, rappers DO have talent...can you talk really fast and keep the beat and rhythm and stuff? i dont think so.
no i cant rap fast or w/e. but i can play guitar which involves a bit more talent
can you sing over sick riffs while playing as fast as you can and keeping the tempo, and changing riffs?
I wouldn't say it's only Ashlee's fault... Sure, she should have done the singing part, but a lot of artists use playback... The guy in charge of the CDs on SNL should be the one to blame imo... He pretty much ruined Ashlee's career with that. And when the music was wrong, how do you expect her to lip sync to a song she's not prepared for?
When it comes to Snoop however... I can't see how he's such an icon. His songs are terrible, the beats are terrible, his voice is just funny. I mean, listen to "Drop It Like It's Hot"... The lyrics has potential, but when it's performed like that, it's just bad...

okay...well, of course he's gonna defend his daughter...its his own flesh and blood. BUT, that doesnt mean he's not gonna criticize other people...that's not being a hypocrite.
and as far as respect--->black people
dislike---.gays
that's his own opinion. that doesnt mean hes a hypocrite...all it means is that he respects blacks and doesnt like gay people.

I am thoroughly sick of "artists" such as 50 cent (dumbbumbum punk with an inflated ego; some moron at a concert threw a single water bottle at him, and because of what 50 or his bodyguards or whatever did to the guy, he's no longer allowed in the city where it happened. To put this in context, when Justin Timberlake was preforming at Sarsstock in Toronto, people were throwing water bottles filled with urine at him. He merely responded by saying that if he were there to see AC/DC or the Rolling Stones, he wouldn't want to see himself either.), Little Jon (an obnoxious cariciture of a real artist), or the like, of simple rappers that only go on about hoes (which, face it, is demeaning to women), and the pursuit of more money, and the "bling" that goes with it. It's vapid, unenjoyable "music." It's just a shame that the music industry has to try and appeal to the lowest common denominator, because there is good rap out there, it just doesn't get enough mainstream attention.
Oh, Hoobastank must die, because "The Reason" is the most painfully obnoxious and overplayed song of 2004. I have no reason to think they're bad people, but that song has become as obnoxious to me as "Hero" by Enrique Iglescias and "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion. I would say Nickleback should die, but it just amuses me that Chad Kroger (the lead singer) was once voted ugliest rock musician. That's something that I, as a Canadian, am almost proud of.
I would say that the entire realm of young female pop singers suck (which for the most part, they do), but they're attractive and inoffensive enough that I don't really care. I'd rather that more talented people replace them, but, eh.

Unfortuantly its what most of society wants. Commericilised cr@p that gets so incredibly saturated. The only good thing those record companies are good at doing, is marketing, persuading the puclic that a pile of s***T is really worth buying.... I am a big fan of rap music, but i can't stand 50 cent either, sure he may release a few good tracks (the ones that don't get that much commercial attention), but most of his stuff are quite frankly rubbish. There are so many far better and talented rappers than 50 cent that don't even get a look in, because they decided no to conform to societies rules....
I agree with you ibi, most of 50's older albums are great, GRoFT had a whle lot of great tracks in it, but he released his crappy tracks and now with the Massacre he almost only has crappy songs that are only good because of the beats, not because of him. An example: Candy Shop: beat is hot, text is meh
