That happened to me as well. What you have to do to get full unlocks is race all outruns first then race the normal races. Tiring and long, but it's quite rewarding when finished.

...so I cant get the nice stuff..until I outrun..what if I just beat career..can I just beat outruns..or do i have to restart entire career?

But the WBK's in quickrace-mode will be available when you've beat "caleb" in the last race. And you'll get some new rims then.

Good thing is you'll unlock everything in quick race mode once the career is finished.
