Well then how do you explain the Bugatti Veyron eh?pc25 wrote:James31278 wrote:If I were rich I would buy a Skyline and show the Supra that its not the biggest dog in the yard.
me too man. imo supra's body is too much weight than skyline that's why it is not everyones favorite.
less weigth equals more speed, simple as that.
And the Supra only weighs about 100kg more than a Skyline. That's one passenger.

It has nothing to do with weight, the Skyline is more popular because its very fast and very high tech. It looks great too. I would buy a Skyline because I like the car, I like the way it sounds and looks. A car with that much computer gizmos in it would suit me perfectly.pc25 wrote:James31278 wrote:If I were rich I would buy a Skyline and show the Supra that its not the biggest dog in the yard.

I love how people instantly dismiss the Supra as heavy, when its less than a passenger heavier than a Ferrari 360. Besides which, the 3000GT/GTO is never picked on b/c of its weight, and its AWD drivetrain weighs a ton! (not literally btw...)
Supra Vs Skyline is a toughy, both are about the same speed in a straight line (Although the Skyline is more consistent due to AWD), and round the corners, both cars handle amazingly. I guess its down to personal preference on that one, like James said.

I just don't like the way the supra looks I saw one a month ago it was deep red and its looked old and out of date. It was the late 90's model too. I think its funny how some people think using numbers is gonna win the arguement for the Supra. Such and such pounds, such and such compression. Such and such seconds at such and such miles an hour. They can use the numbers arguement to win the arguement but the Skyline will still win the actual race.

Lets disect the supra vs skyline video ive seen it and the Supra was a modified car where the Skyline wasn't. so the Skyline still wins because the Supra cheated. The only way the Supra can win is if its modified and the other car isn't. Now heres an even race. The Supra barely won in that video too.master m wrote:Some video's to prove the supra's powerJames31278 wrote:They can use the numbers arguement to win the arguement but the Skyline will still win the actual race.
Here's a dragrace between a Veilside Skyline R33 and a Veilside Supra mk4 (The Supra wins)
300zx vs Supra mk3 (The supra Ownz the 300zx)

^I feel some fanboyism coming up..
I don't have the exact power ratings for the MKIV Supra and R34 Skyline, but from what I've seen, I believe the Supra has a few more.
I think that the Supra is probably faster with a running start, while the Skyline has a faster start when both are standing still because of the 4WD.

The Supra does have a little more power primarly because the Skyline is restricted. The Supra's weight doesn't help it at all. I saw on a website quote. "The Skyline is dynamicly superior in performance and having a rich history in racing." Something like that. Unfortunately the more powerful and expensive a car gets the shorter the lifespan at the dealership. The RX-7 in 95 the Supra in 98 the Skyline in 2002.
Are you sure that the Skyline R33 in that ^^ video is stockmaster m wrote:Some video's to prove the supra's powerJames31278 wrote:They can use the numbers arguement to win the arguement but the Skyline will still win the actual race.

1/4 mile times from that video:
Skyline R33 GTR: 11.9s
Supra mk4: 12.3s
original specs:
Skyling R33 GTR: 14s
Supra mk4: 14s
So the R33 GTR in that video is NOT a standard car

If you're gonna pit Skyline against Supra, my chips go down on the Skyline.
Practically infinately tunable, the only weakness to its BHP is that complex AWD system.
Wonder how much it could take before giving in...
